Faster than google - smaller databas and hits too. So big fuckin deal.

Been watching my SERPS for awhile on live.com and they bounce all over the place. So it is a work in progress yet.

do you say that msn.com database is small one (live.com is using this one)?! i would not agree... though it's smaller than google's, it is the third search engine database according to the amount of spidered links... i still appreciate google's traffic, but google is covering only around 53% of the US search engine traffic. MSN has big piece of the cake for the other 44%... There are also Yahoo, Altavista, etc, too...

MSN has a big piece of the 44%? Not quite.

Google - 56.9%
Yahoo - 21.2%
MSN Search - 8.9%
AOL Search - 3.2%

If 8.9% is a big piece of the rest, my statistics minor was not worth it.

Not to knock your ranking, but it's MSN. The term is decent, but still, MSN. I just couldn't imagine selling search engine optimization services and bragging about it for some rankings for a search engine that is well behind the big 2.

I don't doubt this results, but which source did you use?

I already have decent results on Yahoo and on Google, but that's less important here. I was pointing that live.com would take bigger share comparing to this position. And where is Altavista? Is it under Yahoo? I'm only being curious...

All I wanted is to point that nearly 10% of MSN's share is not useless. I agree that Google is major SE, but: Why do you use MS Microsoft? Why are you buying Office? Do not consider MS stupid! Who's the reachest man on the planet?!

I'm not Microsoft's fan, but with the use of AJAX (do not remind new Vista!), MS would hit at least %25 of the market, I have no doubts about that.

MSN (live.com) + Yahoo would hit around 1/2 of the market soon, I'm totally positive!

btw, what do you think of AJAX? as far as i know google was the first that used it in public on gmail... (i might be wrong???)

OK, at least they have fewer hits. I'm not sure about the msn database = live.com database. Will take your word for it.

That would take a few bucks to equal the all of all of googles servers & bandwidth. I doubt MS is there yet.

I have more SERPS on google than yahoo or any other SE. Love 'em or hate 'em, they make or break me.

Altavista is such small volume it apparently wasn't worth mentioning. They fall well below other engines like Ask. Under 1% for sure. They use Yahoo! results also so I'd just consider that part of Yahoo!.

Those statistics don't take into account what other small engines power their search by either. Remember that AOL uses Google results, so ranking high on Google also gets those benefits. Yahoo! also syndicates results to other engines like AltaVista, AlltheWeb, and more. Comcast, Firefox, and more use Google. I don't know of a single engine using MSN results.

Again, I'm not trying to knock your results, but high rankings on Google and Yahoo! make MSN search volume almost laughable.

Live is using MSN results. Try www.PileDog.com too... Good one...

I could and I couldn't agree with youl. Though MSN volume is small, MSN accompanied with Yahoo is making more than %33 of the market. Compare the speed of optimizing for Google and for Yahoo. Yahoo likes new content, and Google likes a lot of inbound links (this means: the older site, the better).

So, new players targeting keywords with competition, don't have much chance comparing with the big fishes...
