I think it's brilliant, not only are they pulling a HUGE April Fools Day prank on thousands. They are flaunting their recent judement ruling in their favor in regards to 2600 registering the domain "fuckgeneralmotors.com" which is directed to gerneralmotors.com they were sued and won.

Judge say people are free to link whomever they chose from their domain.

So not only are they flaunting their judgement, they are doing exactly what they plan to do just with different methods, instead of bringing down a server, dump all your traffic on them for a day, run up their bandwidth and switch it back, essentially pulling alternate methods of pranksterism, and the true honor of security secrets.
