If you haven't yet read it, I highly recommend "Freakonomics".

The charts I linked aren't meant to show that the games -reduced- teenage violent crime, they just show that violent crime among teens has gone down drastically over the last several years, despite the bullshit spewed forth by the ignorant. I know you know that and were just goofing off, but... Anyway, the charts are linked to the government site where the originals came from. Check it out.

With that said, it would be funny to put Internet porn on the charts instead of the games, and then post them somewhere to show the correlation.

yes, I checked it. Extensive media coverage of all world-events creates this illusion of increased criminality if you ask me.

But what government site are you referring to for these graphs?

What was the region covered by these statistics - U.S./Canada/all of North America?

One look at the violent crime statistics for the city of Toronto just this past year and the number of fatal shootings completely offsets claims that violent crimes are on the decrease. That's not to say it has anything to do with violent video games (I don't believe video games are chiefly to blame anyways).

As for the story about the 14yo girl killing the 3yo boy that started this thread, the latest update is the young girl is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow (Jan 3rd).
