![]() 3 or 4 times now I have lost a file because of this. I will open WSftp_Pro to upload a file. I decide to rename it in the left window and then proceed to upload it in the right. When it finishes uploading, it changes the file to some fuked up format that won't open....any ideas why or anyone know what I am talking about....

Is it trying to save a backup maybe? Instead of overwriting the existing file it saves it as .bak or equivalent?
Just a wild guess. |

Are you changing file extensions?
And/or uploading files with uncommon extensions?? Auto-detect data mode select (ascii / binary) works well with common, popular file extensions like .txt, .htm, .html, .gif, .jpg, etc ... but for a file ending in like .shtml, auto-detect may default to binary - not necessarily desireable. Ron

auto-detect is good, but you need to set your options so WS-FTP knows what certain extensions are supposed to be (binary or ASCII)
