For all of you S.O.D. / M.O.D. fantatics, you gotta read Billy Milano's website. Fucking hilarious. It should also get a rise out of some of you liberals on the board, pretty fucking funny.

If you like COC you have to check out my friends band.

http://www.myspace.com/redeemer

If COC had kept going and got a bit heavier they'd sound like this.

Will have to check it out too. I like C.O.C. Need to check out some of your stuff too I heard a bit on myspace or something the other day I think when someone posted about it.

I remember back (when I lived) in El Paso, TX too there was a band called Malignant that played that was killer. Never heard anything else about them, but they were awesome live. Don't think they ever got signed.

The days of Big record deals for rock bands are over. We produced and recorded our CD ourselves. Well, we had help from friends and shit...but it came out of our pocket. We have a tentative Distro deal in the works, but need to commit to full time touring to close it.

I figure by spring we'll be on the road, but with no tour support. These days you better have a good head for business if you want to make it as a band.

Yeah I am sure, but this was back in the day before Mp3's and file sharing I am talking late 80's , early 90's. I am sure it is 10X harder now, but then again, with the internet you can be a success on your own with enough marketing and cut out the middleman, just takes a ton of work. A childhood friend of mine who I don't talk to much anymore is in a band too called Bridge (might not be anymore). He is a phenomenal guitarist, he was a child prodigy, just couldn't get in with the right bands. His name is Paul Moore and is extremely gifted with the axe. Hopefully he gets on with a band that gets signed, he deserves it.

I know a ton of super talented muscians that will probably never go anywhere. Being in a band is like being in a relationship except that you don't get to have make up sex.

The Internet had defintely made it easier for less mainstream bands get a solid fan base.

here is another great local metal band. Once again showing the power of the internet. http://www.myspace.com/thineeyesbleed

And don't forget Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil

And not as Heavy or Hard, but definitely one of the top
AC/DC - Highway to Hell

I'd like to check out some of their tunes

They have any MP3's online anywhere?

Though after looking at their links page I am wondering if I am going to like them.

Definately a good one, but "Ashes of the Wake" by Lamb of God puts Slayer to shame. Also, if you wait until tomorrow you can get "Killadelphia" by Lamb of God, their new live album that kicks complete and total ass. You'll never be the same. Trust me.

Hey anyone here ever listen to the old Death Angel then they became "DA" because they didn't think they were heavy enough to be called Death Angel anymore. Talented band.
Was Death Angel the Asian Speed Metal band from the Bay Area?

If so, those guys were insane!

If not, well shit what were those guys called?

I thought Black Sabbath set the standard for metal when they tuned down to D begining with MASTER OF REALITY (then Vol 4, then Sabotage). To me those 3 albums define heavy metal, and set the standard for the next 34 years. Don't get me wrong I love Pantera, but Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler had METAL all figured out when the guys in Pantera were in diapers.
