I wish we had a great big island where we could just dump all these criminal clowns.

What a waste of taxpayer's money.

I'm not a proponent of the death sentence, because it seems to hypocritcal to kill someone for killing someone.

I think living your life in jail is a harsher sentence. But the thought that the taxpayers have to pickup up the tab also irks me.

So I say lets find a big island in the middle of nowhere and just dump them all there and let them figure out how to survive on their own cave man style.

There is a little difference between tortuing someone because they lost a soccer game, and executing someone for murdering multiple people in cold blood.

instead of the death penalty, i think we should build prisons that are just rows upon rows of 4x4 boxes with steel doors and locks and put murderers, rapists and child molestors in them....feed them twice a day and let them sit in those boxes for the rest of their lives, no light, no contact, no love

Tookie was stuck on drugs, PCP, from LA's darkest sides.
He was 29 yrs old when convicted.

He commited the crimes under the heavy influence of drugs emm PCP to be exact.

He reformed his life inside jail, where at least he was able to eat and get himself together. Since then he has written books, been awarded for his help in fighting gang violence.

There is no way he is the same man that murdered the people inside 7-11.

I think he should be allowed to live if he wants to, why he would I dunno but I do know he has helped saved the lives of countless gang members in LA and who knows how many murders through his influence never happened.

Who knows how many more lives he can save by being alive?

Thats pretty good, but not productive enough...

Theres always more victims than guilty perps right so i think the best idea is to assign ownership of guilty people to the victims.

So if some guy raped a girl , and he got 5 years , thats how long the victim gets to own the prisoner for.. They can do whatever they want with the prisoner they own for 5 years ( except kill them )

One thing is clear ,Killing is wrong. Nobody should ever kill anybody.. doesnt serve any purpose. If nothing else , put them to work.

NO, for the most part am a supporter of the death penalty and killing when the person in question is a threat and can not be contained. Jails were made for those whom stand to reform themselves and come back to civilization.

Prison is the last hope that someone will reform themselves. Tookie is not a threat and during his time he has most likely saved hundreds maybe thousands of lives through his writtings.

he may have been on drugs most of the time but i heard him say himself he shot innocent people. point blank.. if he was "insane" he wouldn't know what he had done..

I wont argue the legal definition , but needless to say if you know what your doing is wrong the you should be culpible , and he knew what he was doing was wrong..

Isnt this going to happen on monday? the descision I mean? I dont see Arnold letting him be saved, but thats just my opinion on it. BTW, Arnold almost died himself the other week...some type of racing heart beat that is supposed to be common with those who have had his type of heart surgery, but still scary at the least.

I watched a special today on it and it seems obvious that he did the killings and they should merit death if you believe in the death penalty.

I would like to see a last chance prison where they could at least try to survive in a kaos environment or do death.

Wouldnt be the first black man to die in LA under a false conviction, but this guy does seem different than most. Most hard criminals never make an effort help to save others or attempt to undo what they done. Again Tookie wrote books and reached out to Gang Members to stop violence.

If Tookie Williams is granted clemency from the Governor, he would still have to serve a sentence of life in jail.

At least six people who were previously on death row in California were later exonerated (proven to be not guilty even though they had been convicted and sentenced to death). There are scores of others similarly sentenced to death throughout the country who were later found to be not guilty.

The main reason Williams was convicted was because of info obtained from jailhouse snitches (in return for lighter sentences, etc), not any eyewitness accounts.

The death penalty is wrong on so many levels.

Let Williams keep helping others on the outside from behind the prison bars (unless evidence surfaces indicating that he is not the killer, in which case he should be released).

At least six people who were previously on death row in California were later exonerated (proven to be not guilty even though they had been convicted and sentenced to death). There are scores of others similarly sentenced to death throughout the country who were later found to be not guilty. The main reason Williams was convicted was because of info obtained from jailhouse snitches (in return for lighter sentences, etc), not any eyewitness accounts. The death penalty is wrong on so many levels. Let Williams keep helping others on the outside from behind the prison bars (unless evidence surfaces indicating that he is not the killer, in which case he should be released).
