I dont know if i would go that far , but i cant see how this can "help" sales. I do think there could have been a more professional way of announcing that people who have tried to work with them in the past should try again..

If this is the worst you seen, you havent been around more then a week.

You may want to rethink that statement.

Looks pretty mis-judged to me, maybe you could have individually emailed the affiliates that dealt with him and left the rest.

ANNOUNCEMENT.

It has come to the attention of mensniche that over the last several months we may have dropped the ball. One of our employees did not live up to the mensniche standards and was replaced. If you have tried to contact us in the past and found it difficult we apologize , please contact our new affiliate rep XXXXX

Thanks you for your time.

mrthumbs 12-11-2005 02:50 PM

Actually that's exactly how I would say to do it. :thumbsup No need to mention names and lay it out there in as much truth as you can.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 12-11-2005 03:05 PM

The adult industry never ceases to amaze me. You should never discuss personnel issues publicly. You open yourself up to a wrongful termination lawsuit when you do. Management should know better.

No, in the United States its illegal. Scott could probably turn around and own Darren's ass if it were all based in the United States. An employer can not speak out against former employees in which it would hinder their ability to make money and get new jobs. All the employer can do is stay quiet.

It kind of sucks but its also to protect said employee.

Illegal isn't the right word. The situation could easily bring up a civil suit and the plaintiff most likely would win.

JamesK2 12-11-2005 03:11 PM

Kinda fucked up to expose him like that, even though he has done some bad things it's just no reason to fuck up his reputation. Just my opinion.

imageman 12-11-2005 03:34 PM

No your not, only a few weeks ago i let 3 webmasters go, I replaced them with just two webmasters who want to make money and work hard. It was a great move as sales have jumped 15% in a very short period of time...
Its not easy finding the right person for the job but when you do it pays dividends and is worth all the hassle believe me!

I hope, that new insider will be better choice...bump for you

Alex From San Diego 12-11-2005 04:07 PM

Affiliate reps are entirely overrated....

There are maybe 2-3 that are worth their salt. The rest are leaches looking for a free ride.

As for the announcement, not very clever on your part regardless if your rep was a dirtbag. (alledgedly)

InGayPorn 12-11-2005 05:05 PM

As they say in the UK...Bad show!

I don't claim to know the business culture in the UK, but in the US this sort of thing would be the act of fools. No US business in their right mined would have done it. Its just not done...period! :flagface

Sadly if a post had been made in those exact words, there would have been 100's of requests to name the slacker. Too many times people have begged posters to name names. Mensniche did. They did push the envelope by stating specific instances about said ex-employee though.

bhutocracy 12-11-2005 07:27 PM

Don't think it was that bad, plus every bugger would be begging them for a name otherwise. Darren is good peoples, who gives a damn if a shady guy was outed in a country where they can get away with it. If it was Lensman doing the same with Amp no one would give a shit.

pornpf69 12-11-2005 07:30 PM

at least things seems to be 'getting better'

EroticySteve 12-11-2005 07:48 PM

I had the chance to sit down with Darren and Scott in Miami, albeit a late night discussion I got a good understanding of their program. This is a surprise to say the least.

And a few points:

1) There are two sides two every story.
2) Whether or not you would have handled the situation in a similar fashion, what is done is done. Personally it is important I think to keep some stuff under wraps.
3) Employees do go awry from time to time, however not everything is as it seems and everything deserves an explanation. I guess refers to point #1

pocketkangaroo 12-11-2005 08:09 PM

Well you guys should hope Scott finds a job quickly otherwise you just handed him a sweet lawsuit on a silver platter.

greenlab 12-11-2005 08:15 PM

Darren,
was was Scott doing in Romania ? :pimp

true , but someone would have figured it out and posted it serving the same purpose :)

on the news you often hear about people getting fired , but they dont say " so and so , did this and that "

They say, XXXX was fired/quit amid allegation he did such and such... the company usually just says " XXXX was fired "

My point was just that it didnt serve any purpose to do it the way they did. Its hard not to become personally offended when employees don't represent your company well, but its better to just move on and find the best solution to improve your company. Then again everyone has their own way of doing things :)

BEEP!

I don't know if they were the 2 single most unprofessional things...but it definitely is up there. When I received their email, my robot jaw hit the floor. Time to reboot.

Agree. In fact even if he does get a job, you've defamed him. Not an attorney, but in my opinion your inexperience in business is sure showing and could really bit ya in the ass legally.

I'd find a moderator and get this thread yanked ASAP to try to mitigate the damage.

Your public statement affects my opinion of the company. Wonder who's the real fuck up now?

tranza 12-12-2005 03:43 PM

I believe this thread deserves a bump!

What really hapened?

pussyluver 12-12-2005 06:03 PM

We haven't heard the other side of the story. No mention from Scott. That could be a sign he has taken advantage of legal help already.

Don't know much about civil law in the UK other than much of the US system is based on it. Not an attorney either, but it is my opinion that if this were in the states jurisdiction, MensNiche would be getting a visit from a process server soon.

Agreed. I've dealt with Darren many times before. He's quite shady on many different levels. :2 cents:
