In 14 years of publishing magazines, our experience has been that if you put a black girl on the cover, the newsstand sales for that issue tank. We still have girls of color in our magazines, but the math on this has limited our willingness to experiment too much.

Just some facts to chew on while you ponder why Steve has hesistated in investing in a solo ebony teen project.
