Skills to pay the bills.

TGP is a webmaster or skilled freeloader term.

The truth is that ANYONE can learn 90% about seo in only a few hours. There are 1000s of pages describing how everything works, then you just throw in some common sense, and you get 90% of what you need to know about SEO. The remaining 10% is harder to get and it mostly comes from experience and some luck.

Anyone selling SEO services on here, knows the 90% part that is freely available on the net, and just hasn't really mastered the remaining 10% yet.

But then, if you are too lazy to research this stuff yourself, or perhaps you lack common sense to pull all the pieces together, paying someone $200 to teach you the basics (90% part) isn't THAT bad of a deal. So that being said, I guess I'll jump on the seo consulting bandwagon as well, I won't pretend I'm a seo god, but I can offer some reasonably priced tips that will help you rank higher, icq: 33375924.

It's not near 90%, but you could learn more than 50% in 10 days...
Can we discuss about SEO on ICQ, woj? I'm not being sarcastic...

Except we are hosting company so webmaster traffic is better then surfers.

You should see our tgp:

http://www.tgpdog.com/main/

We give free se traffic to honest gallery submitters and we advertise our business in exchange.

No circle jerks or major ads, just galleries.

Win win, that's what it's all about right?

Linkster 11-30-2005 02:38 PM

Lets see - I could make a post about positions - but I wont as it is useless - all I can say is that with one of my sites I have as an example - this being the last day of the month - I had 111408 different words/keyphrases with first page results in Google searches that generated traffic to that one site

Since I have written many articles for adult WM online zines and a few boards on SEO, and have never (and never will) charged a penny for the info - and for a few of the larger sites out there that I did help with SEO, they send me 10s of thousands of good hits a day, but I never asked for it as this is the way I give back to the people that helped me back in 1999/2000 when I made the transition from BBS's.

I still give out free help to at least 2 or 3 WMs every week - and it just makes me laugh when I see "SEOs" charging this kind of money for free information - and looking at the results they post as examples and the information they put in posts it is obvious that they dont know what they are doing - IMHO of course

Relax, a light hearted joke on an overly tense thread ... I've had a ton of success with purely white-hat SEO. But the reality is to compete in the highly competitive space, the top dogs are almost all using black hat.

And yes, absolutely true, keep them separate!

You my friend are correct. Allthough i hate to brand someone as black hat or white hat, these days you rarely see a white hat.

If you adapt your site to rank better you are gaming google, if your gaming them and building to suit the spider...whats white hat about that.

Im green hat, i do what it takes to make money.

White SEO, black SEO, gray SEO, green SEO, what's the difference?
If you obey rules and make some good results, then you are my man! ;)
In that case: :thumbsup !

PAR 11-30-2005 11:45 PM

Having worked in the past for SEO companies (keywordranking.com and websourced.com) anyways... I have to agree that a good % of how to work your website and get you pages ranked on google, yahoo... can easily be found by searching the very search engines people are trying to get ranked on. It should take the ave. person only a few days to learn the basics, and months to get up to 90% the last 10% will take a lifetime to learn as the search engine are always changing.
Some of what worked last year will not do much if anything for you this year.
I have also found that there is no 1 way to do things, basically allot of people have there own way to do a few things to get websites in the top 1-2 pages. Is one way better then the other... Yes the guy with the #1 spot did it better.
Black hat, white hat, yellow hat, red hat, what ever a #1 spot for a week is better then spot 100 for a life time.
That all said... If anyone want to chat about SEO feel free to hit me up, anyone looking for a place to send your SE traffic can also hit me up.

I so agree. These selfappointed holy white-hat preachers usually "optimize" their site internally to squeeze out as much traffic juice as possible.

In their mind it's the way you strengthen your site(s) that seperates the white hats from the black hats.

Hypocrites.

It's all about squeezing $$ out of the engines. If it wasn't they wouldn't even be interested in the white/black hat terminology or how they rank.
