50 fucked up X boxes

If that is true what kind of morons run their R and D department? The first thing I'd do before releasing a product like this into the marketplace.. Would be to invite all the employee kids in to beat the shit out of the damn thing and see if it holds up..

Do they not test this shit before it ships?

You're not getting it. It's a hardware problem and EVERYONE has the same power supply. The power supply is defective whether you believe it or not.

Thread started and everyone yelling wait wait wait are retarded. You act as if $400 is the end of the world. How much money will you spend on entertainment in the next 6 months?

As for recalls, even if they do it will be a power supply which will mean you can go pick one up free at your local store. Hardly a stock crashing event and I hope you lose your ass for being so retarded and spreading fear like Bush.

I already put in a couple of long gaming sessions on my 360 and I haven't had one problem with it. I think that it's all about putting the power block and system in a well venhilated area.

If I'm not mistaken...you've got a modded XBox right?

You've already been playing with all the cool new stuff that the XBox360 can now do.

It's pretty obvious that Microsoft put some of the homebrew communities ideas to work. But I still love my XBMC.

Attorney General Abbott Brings First Enforcement Action In Nation Against Sony Bmg For Spyware Violations

Hidden technology allegedly makes computers vulnerable to viruses and hacking

AUSTIN - Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today sued SONY BMG Music Entertainment as the first state in the nation to bring legal action against SONY for illegal ?spyware.? The suit is also the first filed under the state?s spyware law of 2005. It alleges the company surreptitiously installed the spyware on millions of compact music discs (CDs) that consumers inserted into their computers when they play the CDs, which can compromise the systems.

Online Complaint Form

The Attorney General?s lawsuit alleges the New York-based company violated a new Texas law protecting consumers from the hidden spyware. The company accomplished this by using new technology on certain music CDs to install files onto consumers? computers that hide other files installed by SONY. This secret ?cloaking? component is installed without the knowledge of consumers and can cause their computers to become vulnerable to computer viruses and other forms of attack.

?SONY has engaged in a technological version of cloak and dagger deceit against consumers by hiding secret files on their computers,? said Attorney General Abbott. ?Consumers who purchased a SONY CD thought they were buying music. Instead, they received spyware that can damage a computer, subject it to viruses and expose the consumer to possible identity crime.?

The thing is that with the last few generation of systems, I've ALWAYS got my system RIGHT when they came out and I never had a bugged system yet.

It's not a bug. It's a hardware problem.

my guess is that this doesn't happen. or if it does its only going to be a certain batch orr set of serial numbers.

this kind of sucks for the people who are still waiting for 360's.....i'd imagine that this is going to put a dent in inventory.

FTR: I've had my 360 since release date....played the fuck out of Madden and a little 2k6 and nothings happened.

Your reliable source is not a very good one. There is not going to be a recall on all the 360's. Every console ever launched has had problems, from PS2, PSP etc. I have had mine on for over 50 hours without any problems. I would like to know how to crash it so I can try it. I am so sure they will not recall all of the 360's I will pay you $300 if they do recall them all.

Sony Ps3 will kill the Xbox360. The system will be much more powerful, and the games will be insane. I noticed the Xbox games are usually cheesedick.. not as gay as Nintendo Gamecube, but still.

Wait for the PS3.

Black Friday was the most ridiculous thing in the world. There were lines all the way around Wal Mart and Best Buy to buy discounted crap.

Who wants a no-name ED Plasma at any price, even at $1000 it's a POS.

<-- Pays retail and doesn't like long lines.

this is not really news. MS started taking a hit the day that word got out that the 360 was crashing.

Shame on judges for allowing ridiculous lawsuits like that through.

For the plaintiff to even suggest that the manufacturer recall to solve his own problem is ridiculous.
