Get off juicys nuts.

If the shit he wears in pictures is his regular day attire he overdresses

Spunky 11-22-2005 05:37 PM

Why do people judge others by the way they dress? Some people might think they are stylish

sonofsam 11-22-2005 05:40 PM

i wore this to the mansion... it was my first time in the united states and everyone tricked me and told me the playboy mansion was a waterpark :(

I think everyone just has their own style.

Whatever makes you feel more comfortable is ideal, or whatever helps you be in the frame of mind you wish to be in at the time.

quiet 11-22-2005 05:47 PM

i almost always dress casual snowboard/skate style. however, I do own two suits (an ultra formal armani and a more laid back hugo boss) for those times it is required.

Like it or not, we live in a world that is obsessed with the superficial. Few things are more superficial than our appearance, but there are only four reasons why people dress inappropriately in public: they have lousy taste; they have zero understanding of how the world works and simply don't realize they will be judged by their appearance; they understand but don't care and that equates to zero respect for others; or else they are intentionally making a statement about their individuality.

The irony which appears to escape the very few who genuinely belong to that last group is that they end up putting so much time and effort (often money too) into something which at the same time they dismiss as unimportant: "I don't care about people who judge me by my appearance".

And in any case, what the heck is bright yellow hair - for example - supposed to be saying exactly? To me it says no more than that for whatever reason of their own, that person chose yellow hair instead of the color nature gave him or her. It doesn't spell creativity because anyone with nothing better to do with their money can have their hair dyed. If it says anything at all, it is that the person rejects my standards (assuming I don't also have yellow hair).

Fine. That's their right. But if they can reject my standards, I'm equally entitled to reject theirs. Next applicant please...

I put absolutely no time into my appearance 80% of the time, but I still look DAMN GOOD! hahahah

as for the hair dying, I do that for fun for the most part. I am not trying to make any statements, i did that when I was 18...now I just live a nice life that allows me to play here and there with whatever I want

and just out of curiosity, what is "dressing inappropriately in public"? i don't know if you mean slutty girls that wear as little as possible, or if you mean people in general that don't have style for the occasion?

I wear a white tshirt and the same jeans every day. LOL i have no need to dress nice unless I'm going out on a date, or am going to be seen.

baddog 11-22-2005 06:09 PM

I think I dress pretty well when the event calls for it. The women (and some men) sure seem to like my style.

adultchica 11-22-2005 06:11 PM

I think in most of the pics everyone looks pimp! Besides, most of the people were having too much fun to care what they had on. And preferably, they didn't wear their clothes for too long at the Playboy Mansion...I know I wouldn't have!

That's a once in a lifetime chance. I would have stripped down and skinnydipped in the grotto. And gotten drunk off of my ass :-)

I thought most people dress for the occaision. Though I feel comfortable in sweats, I doubt I would wear them to a party or a teachers meeting or a sales presentation or interview.

As far as the hair coloring, piercing and tats, if you can afford it go for it but please don't work in a store. It grosses me out.

Bash me if you want... :Oh crap

Get off your high horse you fucking idiot. If you don't respect someone because of the way they dress it is YOU that has a problem. It shouldn't make a shit what someone wears if they know what they are doing and if you judge them you are the superficial moron. No respect for others, how cute. :1orglaugh

100 webmasters pimped hard for parties in l.a.

http://www.fubarwebmasters.com/curre...biz/z01492.jpg

like i said before. dress to impact and cause reaction! nothing needs to make sense to anyone but me. i would never let anyones silly little guidelines affect the way i live my life. i am a chameleon to my environment. whatever the occassion calls for based on my agenda that i intend to accomplish is how i dress. i need to break into my archives and break out some of the really crazy shit for this thread.

be who you are. if people don't like it, let it take up space in their brain. i saw a hell of a lot of fucking pimped out webmasters and proggie owners at the mansion and xbiz awards.

the funny thing is, i took this pic of me from another board saying that i had "outfagged" someone and a whole bunch of other people jumped on their cock to make fun of my purposeful attempt to attention whore, but its kinda funny, inside the event, i musta had a gazillion pics taken with people. i was the freakshow of the night.

mission accomplished.

all your mindshare are belong to me. :2 cents: :2 cents:

thats 4 cents to make sure i get back just 2.

:) :) :) :) :) :)

You can't get into upscale clubs dressed like that.

You know, I used to wear just Levi 501's and Harley-Davidson t-shirts, even at funerals and weddings because I wanted to just be me and comfortable.

Eventually you grow up and start feeling uncomfortable when everyone else is dressed nice and you are still wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

Liked your quote, cause it made my brain cells do some much needed exercise...

"they have lousy taste" - according to who? i mean, "taste" can vary in fashion as much as it does in the type of music you like or dislike...

"they have zero understanding of how the world works and simply don't realize they will be judged by their appearance" - true, we are judged by our appeareance. Casual dressers are frowned upon by the shirt n' tie club, as much as the shirt n' tie club is frowned upon by the casual dressers...

"they understand but don't care and that equates to zero respect for others" - respect, according to whose standards? Poor Hal, if he has to walk the streets of Panama, he's gonna need a lot of resilience... but he'll probably not turn a head if he walks around Tokyo... in either case, Hal will still be a happy camper with his pink hair :)

"or else they are intentionally making a statement about their individuality" - i have come to believe that individual people (the one's dat really know who they are) are the one's who less feel any ned at all to show their individuality to the rest of the world...

Discuss amongst yourselves...

:thumbsup

I was overstyled in high school (acceptable at that age)... I had a wardrobe probably worth 5 times the one I have right now... right now I just dress nice and simple.

I realised how important it is to be well dressed after a meeting with a video distribution compagny... the first time, he took me as a joke ... couple months later, I met him by "accident" at a gathering. He didn't even recognize me... I played the game and he offered me a way better deal then the one he offered me the first time.

How you present yourself makes a huge difference ...

FUCK THE HATERS.

i've noticed since everyones been back and posting pics, people that didn't go are hating on all sorts of B.S. that grown ups normally wouldn't had they been there at the mansion all of them would have been kissing their asses for pics with those girls. damnit the haterism level has gone to condition red on this board since the show ended.

thats why i like working online, you aren't judged so much by looks. i can be taken just as seriously in my boxers as i can a suit.
