Hello all,
Im new to the board. A friend referrred me over. This is definitely a newbie question but I do need some help and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Im interested in starting an adult site. Damn sure is alot to learn, which is fine. you guys have been in the game for awhile now, it seems so im usre my questions are quite basic yo you. Can you point me to a website designer,developewr, promoter, etc. etc. that can show me baby steps on how to run a site(I would like the site to be prepared and made for me with a .com domain name, of course). Or maybe smeone here on the board can design the site, etc. etc. and do it for a a reasonable price with all the goodies ive been reading about. Im very anxious to start and have about 100 questions that im sure will get answered if I read enough off of this board.

My advice is the following although it's probably not what you want to hear.

First you should start to learn what this thing is all about.
Unless you have at least 2 million dollars a lot of patience,
you don't mind people screwing you up the ass, etc, etc
there is no way to start in this business.

You need to come with a plan, a strategy, a marketing plan,
etc, etc, you need contacts, you need to know what's going
on in the industry, need to know what's popular, try to see
ahead of things, etc, etc. This is an 80 hours a week job
and you can't just "buy" a website and make money. That
was 8 years ago.

Of course you can't do it all by yourself, it's okay to hire others
to do work for you....but at least you should know what you want from them, and understand some of it.

Designers can make great things. But you are the one who should
bring the message across to them what it is you want. The philosophy behind it.

Same for programmers. You should be able to explain what you
need, why you need it, and how it needs to fit in to your plan.

So you decided to get in to this business. Start reading and talking to people, be polite, don't piss people off, this is a small
world and everybody knows everybody. Coming here is a first
step of a very long road my friend.
