yeah, just put something over it.... i was a dj/mc for years.... i had discs that lost some of the backing and they still played... just cover it with a label... i assume its the same media type??..... anti gunners & pro gunners helping each other.... its a beautiful thing, lol.

No - not really.. All the silver part does is keep the light-beam from bouncing through the disc.. it just needs something to reflect the light back

Franck-- go to a place that sells used playstation games &/or dvds. they have a machine that will buff it up back to new & remove all the scratches. they charge anywhere from $1 to $3 per disc (here in the US)

the data is stored on the bottom of the 2 parts of the disk.. like this seen from the side

1 - silver(or other covering material like paint)
2 - hard plastic material (data stored in surface where part 2 meets part 3)
3 - bottom clear plastic/compound material to cover and protect

there it is.... but i have had cds play even after the silver has worn off... also black discs last longer than cheap silver ones.

I covered it with tape but still doesnt work. Im gonna try one of those places.

crap i just spent $100 on a new tv tuner card because the driver cd was damaged and the one on the net wasnt working
