most likely yes.. find something to cover the TOP with so no light get through.. would do the trick 90% of the times
What works best if you have a CD label you can but on top of it, tape can do it to

Damn really? That would be great...it doesnt have to be a shiny material?

Try covering it up with silver paint?..I heard about that somewhere

MikeyFingaz 11-11-2005 07:23 PM

yeah, just put something over it.... i was a dj/mc for years.... i had discs that lost some of the backing and they still played... just cover it with a label... i assume its the same media type??..... anti gunners & pro gunners helping each other.... its a beautiful thing, lol.

No - not really.. All the silver part does is keep the light-beam from bouncing through the disc.. it just needs something to reflect the light back

i thought the data was stored in the silver part....... its stored in the clear plastic?

Franck-- go to a place that sells used playstation games &/or dvds. they have a machine that will buff it up back to new & remove all the scratches. they charge anywhere from $1 to $3 per disc (here in the US)

the data is stored on the bottom of the 2 parts of the disk.. like this seen from the side

1 - silver(or other covering material like paint)
2 - hard plastic material (data stored in surface where part 2 meets part 3)
3 - bottom clear plastic/compound material to cover and protect

there it is.... but i have had cds play even after the silver has worn off... also black discs last longer than cheap silver ones.
