What speakers you running?

I'm looking to buy some new home theatre speakers for the upstairs entertainment room. Suggestions? I'd like something small and compact. Been looking at Bose, but I'm not sure.

Downstairs I'm fully set up with Paradigm Sevens. Very kick ass but too big for the room I'm looking at now.

I think Bose has an NEW X-FI chip that is coming out in december.

You can get X-FI with Soundblaster now.

Donno if thats a shitty version for bose or a kickass version for the PC world

Klypsch http://www.klipsch.com/ All the way! Old man Klypsch was a physics prof when he redesigned the cone to his audiophile taste is I recall my history correctly. Either way, their 5.1 with a DTS capable ONKYO receiver has turned out to be a perfectly honed couple! Happy shopping!

Fred Klipsch, a cousin to Paul W. Klipsch and current owner and chairman of Klipsch Audio Technologies, said, ?It has been said, and I firmly believe it, that every time you listen to recorded music you're hearing the passion, the genius and the legacy of Paul W. Klipsch. He was a verifiable genius who could have chosen any number of vocations, but the world sounds a lot better because he chose audio. And the integrity of Paul W. Klipsch was beyond reproach. He was a great man who always tried to do the right thing in the right way.?

Paradigm's are nice I have one home theater done up with them before I decided that I like the Definitive ones better. The center channel with the Definitive line has an 8" sub in it helps tremendously

Oh and one last thing, FUCK Bose, over hyped POS

Definitive's worst system at $699 with 5 speakers and sub will poop all over Bose

I have to agree that Bose is mostly marketing. I have a policy against buying products sold on infomercials or from ads in the back of magazines. It's an okay product and it's better than your average run of the mill system but even an untrained ear will be able to discern the difference in quality betweeen a Bose system and a true premium audio system.

A few months ago Playboy did an excellent review of premium home stereo set ups, however I'm sure that an Audiophile magazine would help put you in the right direction. Either way, I'd stay away from Bose.
