Unix/Linux ... Sys Admin Question

Get the following results...

CPU states: 4.6% user, 0.0% nice, 0.4% system, 0.0% interrupt, 95.0% idle
Mem: 67M Active, 11M Inact, 38M Wired, 5876K Cache, 22M Buf, 552K Free
Swap: 240M Total, 156M Used, 84M Free, 64% Inuse

The last server I was on was a little different if I remember right.. How much total memory does this show on the server?

Mem: 67M + Swap: 240M = 307meg if I were you i'de get a memory upgrade you need 512m ram and a 1gig swap file!

No you dont, I've got DNS servers that run on 64 megs just fine and handle millions of queries a day - size your machines appropriately and you'll save lots of money. Obviously, a database server will do well with more than 64 megs

They are saying it has 512 megs in there... I told them to add another 512, maybe they are mid process although you would usually shut the server down for that sort of thing...

Time will tell I suppose...

Tis a server running 3 domains that rely VERY heavily on MySQL - therein lies da problem
