Video encoding tips please!

Hey folks!

Giga Alan here, I am doing some video stuff here in the Giga-Pen and need some expert advice.

Is there an "All in one" program that does everything from editing to encoding?

Thanks in advance!

My wife uses Final Cut Pro HD for Mac with Flip for Mac encoder that kicks ass for WMV's, on the PC side I would recommend Vegas Video

My favorite combo is adobe premiere 7.0 and cleaner xl -- together you can make any format you want!

We use Vegas Video... to edit and render.

Here is a sample of what I have been working on today.

How does she like FCP HD compared to FCP 4?

Sweet! Thanks, I'll check out Vegas.

I think final cut may be a little overkill for what I am trying to do.

As always, you guys ROCK!

Hey Elvis! How's the music scene?

Ok, next question... Can Vegas do "Image Capture" in a way that it will create an entire gallery as one function?

If you are looking to automate the "image capture" process you are going to lose a lot of quality in the process.

If you are determined to do it the only program I have found that does this is Frame Shots

Music is good. Playing on Friday with Agnostic Front here in Toronto.

Didn't Sony used to have a little program just for capturing images?

Actually sonys movie studio platinum would meet all your needs and its cheap like $130 bucks. Its built on the same engine as Vegas.

Been using Sony Vegas for a while.. used to use Premiere Pro, but Vegas is much faster for simple stuff. I tried the smaller version, Sony Movie Studio, and it is quite similar, but I would still go for the full Vegas version.

Hey, I got one of those AMD X2 chips coming tomorrow, anyone know if Vegas takes full advantage of dual core? Adobe products?

Premeire for editing and Procoder for encoding. Procoder even has a nice little premiere plugin.

If you endcode batches then try Procoder. I use it every day and could not function without it.
