that's exactly what it was. just like how the greeks/romans used thor throwing his hammer in the clouds or whatever to explain lightning. just ways to explain the unexplainable. "now you better be a good little boy jonny or when you die you're going to a place under the ground where you will burn forever and there is fire everywhere." lmao...

Pretty much what it is ... most of the stuff ... even the Noe arch is explained by science nowdays (dark or black sea getting filled up with water in less then a week ... etc etc)

On a side note do you wonder why the expression "Sweating like a pig" is used to say you are very hot, and sweaty?
