Do any of you live in Oregon? If so how well can someone live in Oregon on a 70k year salary?

I do not live there though my parents do.
For 70k you could do fairly well.

70k/year for most people is ok unless your living in a city. Also matters if your supporting a wife and kids on that 70k.

I can assure you 70k in the city here in Oregon is quite comfortable.

There is a majority here who are well below that.

70k is good.

Wow that is kind of suprising. Is that for single person, or like a 4 person family? You're in Portland correct?

Unless of course you are looking to buy a house..

Here in Oregon it seems almost any income bracket, buying a home that reflects your lifestyle or income here now in Oregon is difficult..

Real Estate is expensive here now..

I live in Washington but Oregon seems to be very affordable. Many people in Southern California are looking at Oregon due to its much lower costs of living.

Thanks for the reply guys! I have a wife and two kids. My company will supply me with a company vehicle and gas card. I plan on moving into the Vancouver area. I am really just trying to decide if I will be ok with the basic utils, medial ins, 500 mnth car payment, ins etc and a mortgage with a 70k yr income.
