So you like pancakes & waffles, but what kind of CRAP are you putting on them?

If you're using that shitty table syrup they sell in all the grocery stores you don't know what you're missing.

Aunt Jemima? please.

The only thing worth putting on pancakes, french toast or waffles is this...

REAL Quebec maple syrup. The kind I buy is from the Maple Crest company in Quebec, comes in a 500 ml glass crock and sells for ten bucks a pop.... worth every damned penny. Once a year my relatives in Quebec send us down a case of cans like you see above. I actually don't eat pancakes or waffles much, maybe once every few months... but when I do it's with the good stuff.

Only two good things ever came out of Quebec -- French chicks, and the best maple syrup in the world.

Think about this thread next time you go to dump that factory made crap on your breakfast.

I put caviar on my pancakes ... no, not the expensive black caviar, they sweeter, more reasonably priced red. (This is what happens to you when you date Russian women)

The difference between the "table syrup" the stores sell and real maple syrup is like the difference between chuck steak and Kobe beef.

The difference is astounding.

Try some vanilla ice cream on the pancakes and then drizzle some real maple syrup over it all.

Incredible.

Real maple syrup is good though there are several nice brands.
Personally though I much rather have my own fruit based puree's on them. They are super simple to make and taste a lot better in my opinion.

Examples:

Blueberry. Strawberry. Seeded blackberry.

Oh and apple, cinnomin and nutmeg is also good.

I'm just saying, the factory-made table syrups they sell in grocery stores is utter crap, and the best maple syrups in the world come out of Quebec, Canada. Period.

And maple syrup goes well with all that fruit stuff you're talking about too.

It's about having some taste in the quality of what you eat. Most people like at least one of the afor-mentioned pancakes, waffles or french toast. The real maple syrup of quality is much healthier for you than that table syrup crap that most people buy, btw.

But yeah, I'm a bit of a fatty. 6' 4", 245 lbs, still muscley but with a bit of a pot and some handleage. Built more like a lineman these days as opposed to a wide reciever. :D

I love chocolate waffles, you just mix cocoa powder in the batter, stick them in the waffle iron and then top them with powdered sugar. Yum.
