Unfortunaely those aren't the greatest Pics. Dean is 100% right.
Matrix has sold a lot of content and has done it very well and filled a niche with a good photographer and some great photoshop people. Unfortunately from what i hear it isn't the same as it use to be there too bad...but still criticising another photgrapher is petty. Especially after you see how much of Matrix's content is out there.
Deans photography is some of the best I have seen around here.
Another note too I have seen alien's photography and it is agreat too. you have a good eye. I just wish you would get some more Models to shoot...ha ha.
Basically this just abunch of bruised egos over the years of competition and really to be truly sucessful I think a little humility and positivity would help.
On another point Asher if you guys buy a new 20k back for your camera you better make sure the pics are awesome, unfortunaely they aren't your regular stuff you guys shoot. anyway carry on nothing to see here folks.

Unfortunately the pictures are gone so I can't comment on them. But some things are coming through very clear.

This is a porn board and the quality of photography rarely gets a guys dick hard. It's the quality of the porn doing that and if you don't understand that you need to learn it fast.

A $12,000 digital camera is worthless for the big paying section of the porn photo market. For that you need film as the big buyers do not buy much on digital. Many reasons and if you do not know then again go learn if you want to sell to that market.

A market that returns $4,000 for a solo girl set as a norm.

When I want real quality I shoot on film because it will be a long time before a $12,000 digital camera replaces a $200,000 drum scanner.

The great thing about the pictures in this thread is not the camera, it's the lens and the lighting techniques.

so that means that when someone orders content from you now, you promise to try the best to learn to work with the camera first? and what would be the purpose of posting pics that you think are not perfect? you announced you'll shoot with that camera weeks ago - so in my eyes that's just a spam thread going wrong. and obviously you realized that and took the pics down.

It has been proven that the canon 1DS mark 2 take better pictures that the digital Hassy does, this is a article from a well know photographer who dumped his hassy gear for the better (imho) Canon 1ds mark 2.

Interesting. While I don't claim to have any superior knowledge of anything regarding photography, I did have an interesting conversation with a good friend of mine who's in charge of most all the coloring done at this little mainstream company. The convo was basically about the fact that shooting in HD is a very expensive proposition, mostly due to the amount of work and post production it takes to make it worth the use of the cameras. Makeup artists are also partly to blame since things that work normally, well, apparently even a minor difference in coloring between the makeup and the flesh shows up clearly... lighting is more critical as well from what he tells me.

I dunno if he knows what he's talking about though, he's only been with Technicolor for 22 years.

Ask him again after 25 years. A good photographer should know if the makeup or lighting isn't working in the shots...and should take steps to rectify it. If my product looks like shit, its my fault, not the makeup artist or the lighting person.

That said, there is very little that can't somehow be improved on in post-edit with regards to color and hue correction. As I often shoot in available lighting...I'm always dealing with different lighting temps, unusual shadows and motion blur - and seldom do I end up with a photoset that I can't salvage in one way or another.

Shooting in HD or with the Hass?

For web use, I would put my 20D up against any camera around. I think Dean made great points and I think he always seems to offer up great photography advice; all backed up with excellent work. Fact is, you shouldn't ask for opinions if you don't like hearing the negative ones.

That HB is great if you are looking to do heavy print work, no doubt. But even 8mp can suffice for magazines, etc.
