dude, sorry to burst your bubble, but I have some raw images from Matrix, straight from the camera....and let's put it this way, if it wasn't for the EXCELLENT photoshop gurus they have their and their magic retouching skills, Matrix would be NO WHERE today...the reason why matrix photos are so retouched when you see them in the catalog on their site, is because without all that retouching the photos would like they are taken by a 16 year old with his first camera

DeanCapture's post with those pics are very impressive. The ones you posted seem like any other camera, doesn't seem anything special to me to be honest.

Mark....I could name a lot of photographers who could "smoke me" - what's your point? I don't look at what I do as a competition so the fact that anyone can "smoke me" doesn't bother me in the least. I have a handful of wonderful clients who love working with me and love my product and yea...I got a little nod from the industry with the XBiz nomination. I'm proud of my work and proud to have been nominated. I can see why you would be sore because you didn't get nominated but taking that out on everyone around you is very immature Mark. I been inside there section, they are shooting almost daily to at least 3 days a week. Some great stuff in there. Maybe ya should buy some respect for yourself and critique the work rather than calling a photographer more or less untalented.

but trust me, this pic was shot by one of the leading photographers in the industry, in a set, with tons of lighting and 3 hours of makeup....and the only reason you would even know it was one of matrix's shots, is because you would have seen it in their catalog....it is a horrible shot...and without photoshop it would have never been used by anyone for content...it is flat out horrible

trust me, matrix is 10% photography skills and 90% photoshop skills

Anybody who comes to this board bragging about their product being shot with a $20,000 camera and then posts pictures that look like that....needs to hear the truth. Unlike you, I'm not going to blow smoke up their ass and tell them how great their work is when it looks like shit. I have an opinion and like you...I have the right to say it. Maybe you don't agree with my opinion and that's fine with me but as you can tell there are many other here who do.

This has nothing to do with competition or who is better than who or who can "smoke" who. If they had posted some great work that was shot with that camera I would have been one of the first to congratulate them on doing a great job. But instead, they post pictures that look like they came out of a Walgreens brand point-n-shoot digital recyclable paper camera and expect us to be impressed because they were shot with a $20,000 camera? I have mad respect for Matrix for what they've accomplished over the years but even the best companies can't stay on top forever. There was a time when their material was the shit but lately things have gone downhill. Even your buddy abyss_al thinks so.

Lastly Mark, you posted in one of your earlier posts that perhaps the photog just had a bad day and that's why the pictures look like crap. Hey, if anyone can relate to that...it's me. Actually, anybody who strives to do good creative work on a consistant basis can relate to that statement. We've all been there. But I don't think this is the case with these images and if it were, Asher should never have posted those pics bragging that they were shot with a $20,000 camera. This has turned into quite a funny thread. Not one time in this thread did I say that we here at matrix content have PERFECTED the hasselblad H1D. Obviously since we have shot on film through out our existance, it will take some time for us to get it down, the same way we had shooting on film down. The point was just to inform you "people" that we are shooting on the Hasselblad, but why would I expect anything different from, keyboard warrirors, out to make their miserable little lives more interesting by hating on people who are far more successful and skilled than they would ever hope to be...........

nothing wrong with the camera.... but dont you think its a bit too high of res/mpxl for what you guys do? thats mainly for billboards and very large print..

Thats mainly what it is for, I do not think they would use the instrument for web photos only. Really I doubt it.

I sometimes cringe at the amount of "airbrushing" Matrix do, but on the whole I'm a fan of their content. It seems odd they chose pics to show off their new camera that aren't up to their usual standard, but the color balance, brightness and contrast all seem off to me.

Please name 3 peoples that posted in this thread as as "Keyboard Warrior" that ANYONE from Matrix Content is more successful than.
