Because some would argue ( like everything that will be posted in this thread) it's the best. you can follow the price tags if your looking to impress with your bar. no one is about to come in here and say they like their 7.00 a bottle vodka, while everyone else will be screaming Grey Goose. Take 2-3 grand down to your local ABC and buy the most expensive of everything. as far as taste. Thats a little tougher. it depends on what you like. I can't be in the same area as an open bottle of Gin, it makes me sick thinking about it. so none of that tastes good to me. Jager Or Jack for me bro. what time should I head over?

the only problem with collecting alcohol is it all dissappears as soon as people come over. Buy what you like. Start off with a bottle of louis XIII

For vodkas I like a good Polish potato vodka, usually they're not too expensive and go down smooooth.

Bombay Gin is really the best imho. Its so smooth, and has a very light aromatic taste.

JW Blue label is ~$200 a bottle not black. And if you dont like scotch/whiskey you probably wont tell a difference. I bought a bottle and didnt care for it, but again Im not too into scotch or whiskey.

Anyone ever had Moskovskaya vodka? I had some and really liked it, but don't know enough about vodka to know how it rates and it doesn't seem to be available in the US. Where does it rank in the premium vodkas?

An alcohol collection.
That should go great with your "Boys of NASCAR" jelly jar glasses.

JW Blue is worth it. MacAllan 25 is better in my opinion. If money is no object buy some MacAllan 1945 vintage scotch (3750 Pounds Sterling/750ml).

Ok I'm a wine snob but my votes would be:
Vodka - Chopin Vodka is a terrific polish vodka. it is incredibly smooth, and begins earthy before shifting to a moderately sweet and metallic finish Tequilla - Hornitos Rum - Cruzan's Single Barrel Estate Rum. Crafted by Cruzan in St. Croix, is a deep caramel-copper color, A rum you can drink straight (who needs limes or ice!). Its flavor is complex, serving up soft toffee and carmel notes, and a hint of spice. Gin - Van Gogh Gin (94 proof) is a super premium gin from Holland made by Dirkzwager Distillery. A very impressive gin and one that is spectacular with tonic. Damn near perfect. Calvados - Daron's XO is 18 years old is is absolutely incredible. It is copper colored, nuanced, and offers up notes of baked apples, cinnamon, vanilla and more. It is priced at $27.99 per 375 ml. bottle and worth every penny of it and more Cognac - La Pouyade is a blend of a number of cognacs produced by the same aristocratic estate, the oldest of which dates to the early 1860s. It's awe inspiring- Abe Lincoln was still alive when part of this cognac was distilled. La Pouyade retails for about $1000 a bottle. Bourbon - W.L. Weller 19 Year, It is mind-blowing in intensity, this bourbons is so rich and fantastically smooth Whiskey - Jameson Gold: Astonishingly good... a bottle goes for $70-$80. Deep gold, far darker than the others. Intense and showing flavors of honey, barley, orange peel and more. Scotch - Bruichladdich 20-year. It's its own creature. Oak, peat, cranberry, toffee, chocolate, and caramel, and it is remarkably soft and almost velvety. |

If you are paying 200 plus for a bottle of Johnny Walker Black please let me open a liquor store on your area and supply you. I purchased my last bottle of that for about 25.
http://www.beerliquors.com/buy/liquors/johnnywalker.htm If you want the good stuff get Johnny Blue, very good, but costly

I recently bought a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, nothing too special. For $250 I'd rather have 10 bottles of ~$25 stuff. I think ill just stick with my Jack Daniels.
