As I said before I understand the concern and I'd give you a longer reply but I lost all respect for you when you said how you sat on a bug in our code for a few months and used it to access things you weren't supposed to instead of coming to us with it so we could fix it.

And for the record my programs have not grown substantially since NATS has been around. Certain people love to assume. Some of the things I've heard have come out of people's mouths are downright insulting and ridiculous but I've learned to ignore them.
I would like to see exactly WHERE I said that *I* sat on that bug or accessed anything. Seriously.

50 misreadings of what I actually said.

You didn't directly say it. You mentioned how those who knew about it (whick you stated you did) found it better to make use of it rather than report it as the information was valuable and a lot could be learned.

If you honestly did not wrongly access anyone then I appologize. I just simply find it very hard to believe based on what you've said.

However, whether or not you did anything with it doesn't change you knowing about it and not bothering to tell us about it. If you weren't making use of it, why not let us know so we could fix it quicker than when someone finally did come to us with it?

I don't remember exactly what I said. I don't remember saying that I knew about it. I do remember that I worded it so that the meaning was very obscure. The truth is that two friends of mine had been using NATS and dropped it due to concerns about NATS creators stealing member information. In my mind that made it so. Perhaps I should not have jumped on that thought, but it's hard not to do it when two people you know have used the software and expressed the concerns. I'm not going to say I still don't harbor a bit of those suspicions. It is hard to trust anyone in this business. So at the time I was enjoying the drama that was going on with NATS, yes. That is something I'll admit to. Beyond that, I'd like to see the quote of what I actually said. Anyone?

We have 8 sites now and like 6 more on the way very soon. I am definitely considering NATS in the future.

I'll give it a good look tomorrow (vB's search functionality sucks). In the large thread about it I found you hinted at it by mentioning it's one of the concerns you heard about in Pheonix. I remember you stating it more clearly when I asked why not just tell us about it. I'll see if I can find that in the morning.

I also came across stuff about you talking about my programs "growing" since NATS came about. Huge assumption on your part and simply wrong. My house was purchased in 2000 for instance. Long before NATS came about. Along with many other things.

I understand you believing your friends 100% as I would of couse most likely do the same. It was your attitude about it, constant negative comments about us on the boards based on hearsay, and above mentioned issues that have given me the opinion of you that I have now.

WTF? Everyone is offshoring fucking everything now!

We have perfectly good hackers here in the states!

I couldn't sleep until I found it. Your statement is pretty obvious in my opinion.

Perhaps instead of running around and accusing others of things they are not doing you should be more worried about yourself and what you may be doing that you shouldn't be.

"Some of us" means that I personally knew, eh? Are you sure about that? Are you absolutely positive "some of us" couldn't include a group of people from GFY that may not have included me? Is that possible?

I dunno. You tell me.

Lightspeed fucked over my cousin. Fact.

Two different program owners I personally know left NATS over concerns about the handling of member info. Fact.

This is a bit much? Why?

Say it was meant however you want it to be now. My opinion of you stands.

If I said "some of us think that Donovan is xyz" then that would be interpreted to have myself included. It's pretty standard english. However you'll probably keep trying to defend yourself so I'm done.

I'm not defending anything. I asked a few questions. The truth of the matter is that I did not personally have access to anyone's information. But I do know people who did. Not like it really matters. It was not anyone else's fault that your code was screwed at the time.

The responsibility still lays on the shoulders of the creator.

We have never done anything we shouldn't have with anyone's member info. Give it up already. Two clients out of nearly 200 have left NATS unhappy. Perhaps they were wrong with their assumptions?

This will be my last reply you. Please don't continue to make baseless completely false accusations about myself and my company.

I will say this: I have no first hand experience that you misuse that information. But isn't it true that you have access to it? That's scary enough, as sonofsam mentioned in his opening post. This discussion with me tonight started when I said, "Here's why I chose not to use NATS". Your answers to sam were quite civil. Do my questions touch some nerves? I guess so. Whatever.

Sos, thanks for the great post. Good to see some good discussion on GFY.

I just wanted to comment on the "access to the admin" issue that many have concerns with, and I fully understand that. But like we keep saying, it is very easy for you to lock us out of your system. Two things need to be done:
1) Change our NATS account to non-admin or simply delete or disable the account.
2) Change the password to the login we used to install the software for you.

From then on it will be impossible to access for us. Of course, the conspiracy theorists here will now claim we have backdoors in the system, but we do not. I can obviously not prove that we do not have any, but let me say this: do you think we would maintain obfuscated logins and passwords to over 150 affiliate programs for admin access so we can help our clients in case of problems if we had some kind of backdoor in our system?

One thing everyone will like to hear is that starting in v3.0 of NATS (which I will not say more about, just that its kicking ass! ) it logs all admin activity by any admin account to the database so you can verify what each admin in your system is doing, another thing to let you keep an eye on our support people and of course also on your own admins.

Again, thanks sos for the kind words and good criticism.

Nats runs our program Wildcash.com and I couldn't ask for a better program. We are expanding into a 2nd program soon and are looking forward to using a 2nd install of NATS for this use.

NATS is nearly perfect, its stable and fast and like John said Fabian must be a "stats whore" cause there are more stats and features than I even have time to look at. John/Fabian and the team have created the best affilate software bar none available today.

Too those who don't have NATS, GET IT ;)

great post. If nats changes to lite for 10-15 site or any other structure ill seriously look at it, with 3 new solo sites comin and adding more processors its a great deal.

>>> So nats owners : who pays out through ccbill (main portion) and the other sponsors through epass? Cause thats an option Id like to think about.

What you mean by payout by ccbill? When you have nats, ccbill will pay you 100%, and you have to pay your affiliates 100%....You can't have ccbill do the payouts to affiliates like in "ccbill" only mode...

i have had similar thoughts cross my mind. Thinking that the nats owners have access to a lot of good infomation. They know what is working and not working for many programs so they would be able to make similar sites themselves. You don't have much choices these days it's either nats,mpa3 or executive stats, and executivstats is owned by another program owner.

Also nas is downright cheap when you think about how many features it has. Would like to see a higher monthly price so not everyone can afford it. The playing field is too level

I just want to see if I could get a response from the owners as to why any program using your stats ...cant send approval plus joins to me ...I have tried with two well known sponsors ...and both times were told they cant do that until your next update which they claim cant take a long time to come out.........now why is that ? Is there no simple way to do that per program ..Id be willing to pay ..to have you add it to their program

Just curious ..Im not bashing the NATS stats at all ... ..I belive you guys have a good thing going ...just would like to do more business with the sponsors using your software!
