While I agree that Aly is a valuable asset to any company it?s quite a leap to assess AVN?s future based on her departure. I don?t recall anyone saying that Python was going out of business when Aly left to do her own thing. It?s completely ridiculous to even attempt to draw any conclusions about any company?s future because a few of their employees left to pursue other endeavors. Especially, when you consider the average turnover rate in this industry. Reps are constantly jumping from one company to the next.
Bottom line, AVN?s been here since the beginning and their not going anywhere. On a more personal note, they?ve always been good to Allie and I long before we ever started advertising with them. Farley always has the time to address any questions or concerns that we have. Seems these days people are so quick to come running to the boards crying about this company or that company without even bothering to contact the company first and give them an opportunity to address whatever issue they may be having. Ok, I?m done now, time to head down to the pool for the CCBill party. ;-) |
State of Union
First, let me say thank you to everyone for their thoughts. As hectic as things have been, I don't often get the chance to read, more or less post on GFY. It's extremely beneficial to get all sides of what our clients and readers feel about our company, the staff, the magazines and the shows. With ongoing input from everyone in the business, we can continue to improve our products and services.
Second, there obviously have been a number of changes at AVN in the past year. I do however feel that they have been positive changes. The feedback on the magazine and avnonline.com site are that Tony Lovett (our new Editor) is doing a great job. Tom Hymes left the magazine in good shape and I feel Tony has gone on to improve the magazine with each issue. The Online staff is extremely dedicated. The look, feel and most importantly the content are all on point. The information is insightful and conducive to helping people do more business. The circulation is up and people are reading it more closely. As for Internext, I head only glowing responses from attendees and exhibitors about the August show. Everyone said they enjoyed the format and did good business. The show is consistently improving bringing more attendees and exhibitors as well as more newbies and mainstream players. This January show will prove to do the same. Third, just like everyone else, AVN has its challenges. We all know that it's impossible to please all the people all the time. Our goal at AVNonline / Internext is simple- help webmasters grow their businesses. In the past 24 years, AVN has built up a strong business on the video side. We help our clients? achieve continuing success by branding and marketing through AVN. It is our ongoing focus to provide continued value to webmasters as we do for video companies- In Print, In Person and Online. Forth, there will always be personnel changes in any business. Like any good business, it's our goal have the most well rounded client-focused individuals servicing our market. We have made some great additions to our teams as well as losing a few. Many of our past employees have gone on to pursue success both in and out of the adult industry. I can speak personally when I say that I wouldn't work for a company for nearly 5 years if I wasn't appreciated and valued. Fifth, as it's been said in this thread and I agree, everyone should participate with and support those companies that benefit their business objectives. Everyone here strives everyday to provide and prove value to our readers and clients. Just like our magazines and shows, our competitors serve a purpose in the marketplace. I always encourage people to closely look at all the advertising/exhibiting/branding/marketing opportunities as to which combination will fit their needs. Lastly I wanted to again say thanks to all the supporters on this thread, those that read Online Magazine and the avnonline site, the attendees and exhibitors. Should anyone have ANY questions, concerns or feedback about any products or services we provide, please contact me personally. I wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous (new year for us yids) rest of the year and upcoming new year. I look forward to seeing everyone soon. KB, ya know i love ya my brother and you are certainly entitled to your opinions... I just don't agree, besides, Tony Lovett is one heck of a smart cookie himself. AVN may not be perfect but they have earned my respect time and time again by doing good biz with us... and trust me... we used to be on the whipping post with them back in the days of Mark Kulkis' reign as editor there. So it is not all about awards and ad dollars for us at all. There is always going to be turnover in corporate life... take a look at Hustler forpetessake... and there is always going to be disgruntled employees. Fact of life. |

PS not to piss on anyone's parade- but the newsflash I got confirmed just now is that Jenni Dahling is Jenni GONE- She quit already. :1orglaugh |
The sooner AVN realizes that their female sales reps don't need to be flashing boobs to get biz
the better off they will be- It didn't work with Kimberly and it's obviously didn't work for Jenni Dahling either- No webmaster cares to be flirted with to get their biz- They just want solid relationships and people to do what they say they will do- AVN sucks- and everyone is starting to see this- I almost don't care to even talk about them anymore- All I care about is that I am RIGHT- Someday I hope to be wrong...but in the meantime, I'll keep calling them as I see them.. |

Are you implying that Jenni was flashing her boobs to drum up business? Or does flashing a smile equate to flashing boobs with you? My opinion is that she went out of her way to insure that she was not seen as content. |
