I just stumbled on a tool called webdrive. You can mount hdd's of your server
as a network drive to your desktop. That way you can edit/save files directly
from your workstation to your server without use of ftp. You can also transfer
files.

Enjoy....and be carefull editing/deleting stuff that's running live on your server

it uses ftp, secure ftp background protocol. It has a lot of options

It's not....you can chose to use secure ftp protocol for the transfers
which uses secure socket layer

Interesting but I can do the same exact thing using the "Webfolders" feature of Win 2k or XP.

Not very useful.
