I saw Roger bumped the old Anxiety Disorder thread.

I have had OCD for 25+ years, just didn't know it was "OCD" back then.

Started out where I had to balance things out. If I touched something with my right hand I had to touch it exactly the same way with my left hand.

If I was driving down the street and the car had a bump on the left tire, I had to find a bump in the road for the right tire.

I also bit my nails constantly, I won't go into my worst ever OCD habits

I was able to stop some of these like the balancing out thing by just going and touching something so many times there was no way I could ever balance it out.

I would also push myself to go as far as I could without chewing my nails. I created kind of another habit for that, I would see how long I could grow them...before long I would have these ungodly long nails.

Right now I'm dealing with one that just drives me freaking nuts.

I only pick at the nail on my left middle finger. Every other finger the nail is fine.

The left middle one has not had a chance to grow in months because I'm constantly picking at it. In fact I'm constantly dealing with irritation, and infections because I rip it down to the skin.

I think I'm going to have to get some tape or something and just bound that poor finger.

Okay I spilled it what's your OCD?

I've noticed a few myself lately....I'm a perfectionist and a control nut to start with so the little habbits have always been "just a side effect."

Every now and then, I feel I have to go out and kill some jogger. Has been a while now...

OCD is very prevalent in my family on my mother's side. My grandmother up until she died was recording something on t.v. almost every hour of the day. She would put the tape in start to record go to bed, wake up a couple hours later start a new one go back to bed.

She had all the tapes labled for all the kids, grandkids etc. There were 1,000's of VHS tapes stacked in front of her tv about 2-3 feet high..and went along the wall by the fireplace.

I am obsessed with order and time. all that I do must be timed and scheduled or else I won't be able to do it correctly and must be in the proper order that I got used to. I mean I have to take a shower for exaclty 30 minutes, of I will feel vey filthy all day long if its less than 30 minutes
