Managed Host Expirience ?

Hello Everyone,

I was looking for a managed dedicated server and came to these ones

http://www.isprime.com/
http://www.oxeo.com
http://www.jupiterhosting.com
http://www.hahahahahaha.com
http://www.natnet.com
http://www.webair.com/
http://www.rackspace.com
http://www.accretive-networks.net/

I am wondering if anyone has tried any of them and which one you would recommend from the point of network, managed services quality and DDoS mitigation ?
In particular i am interested in Dual Xeon with 2000 GB bandwidth(or 10 mbps unmetered) in $500 range, lower prefered

As far as i know ISPrime should be connected at 45 mbps,Jupiter, natnet and rackspace must be charging about $1000 a month for teh server with above chars.
Accretive doesnt have an email on their website to contact them so ist a dark horse for me.

I have been with EV1servers and Theplanet but both are unmanaged hosts

You forgot M3 Server

Seriously though, you are going to be hard pressed to find a good truly managed host on premium bandwidth at that cost. You have some good hosting companies on that list... just be sure to check out everyone's defintion of "managed" as this can vary greatly.

Please check us out as well and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Good luck.

Of course, the definition "managed" is one of catches..
The top host is probably teh rackspace and jupiter but they cost near or above $1000 a month ;)

Only personal experience - Rackspace have good support/managed services.

However, the management and "admin" are like something not of this planet and have been a never-ending problem which trickles down to the techies and screws em up along the way. Calls and chats with the CEO mean nothing. You can have a server pulled for violation of AUP for domains you don't even own (or hosted on the server) and one's which don't even appear on the Rackspace network.

There are other issues as well which eventually decided us in terminating with Rackspace. Never in 10 years on the net and working with a good number of hosts, have we experienced so much crap as with Rackspace. The larger a company is, it appears the bigger the problems can be. Tho, have to say, the tech staff will look after ya fine!

PS... What can you expect from a company that uses a by-line of offering "fanatical support"? It sure as hell is fanatical! *lol*

I didnt suggest c h o o p a, I replied with their name cause it was asked which name was censored, well its them. Regardless noone can hold a candle to my guys at www.isprime.com Just look at who is hosted there. Massive mainstream and adult companies, such as bangbros.com in adult and casio.com in mainstream. You think casio will put thier online presence in the hands of amateur hosting companies?
