GFED.......
Before you do anything hit me up on icq (sig). I've got a new program/venture that needs alot of work, was thinking of launching by the end of this month.
I'm sure i could use some of your skills, if you know any scripting, cgi, php or whatever that's even better, if you don't i'm sure i can fit you in to do something else.
Don't give up, take life by the balls! If you have fallen and are left with nothing and you have the power to stand up, never look back and move forward then the world is yours man.

I would definately see an Attorney if you are still going to file. Attorneys will take payments and are better equiped to negotiate your debt to creditors.
Good luck to ya, keep your chin up

The bad thing is you have like a week to get this filed as the new laws go into effect very soon. While you may be able to work your way out of this you have to decide to file or not ASAP. After the 15th I wouldn't file and would just call all my ceditors and make payment arrangements. Ask them if you can cut your payments in half for 6 months so you can get on your feet. Then go out and make your site work. You will find that while a lot of ppl on here love to give grief there are as many that will help you with your site and make it work. Good luck man!

As for getting credit after you have filed you will probably receive a few credit card offers in the mail in about 6 months or so. Afterall, although you fucked up before, you have a lot less debt than the average American and some companies do look for that. They may only give you a $500 limit but you can build upon that. To help re-establish your credit you can also go to your bank and ask for a secured $500 loan. You give them 500 they loan you 500 and then you make payments. Take the 500 they give you and go to another bank and do the same thing and so on until you have like 5 loans. Pay on them each month and in a year you should see your credit score improve.

You are also in FL so you will get to keep all your essentials and home if you own one. Maybe even the car too. Been a while since I lived there but you are in a good state to file bankruptcy.

True! It's better to be out of the scenario and have someone who is not under pressure deal with creditors - and... legal advice is a plus

I want to thank everyone for their support. I haven't much choice but to file. My income went from $1200/month to $250/month. All my sites are dead. All my traffic is gone. I've spent my savings. Even cashed the change in my Zepheryhills bottle. My credit card bills are due in three days. I owe over $30,000. My minimum payment is $1250. Even my interest in more than I make.

I've done it before, and others that I know have too. It is not the end of the world. Sure it sucks beyond belief, but it's way recoverable.

In less than a year of filing I had a new credit card to help rebuild my score, and a major US bank told me (within the 12-14 month range of having filed) that I could apply for a mortgage immediately with them, as they knew I couldn't file again in several years, that I had previously had a successful mortgage with them, and that as long as my debt to income ratio was rocking it would be no problem at all.

So, chin up, file that crap before the deadline and get liberated. It sucks, but learn from it and don't repeat it in the future. ALWAYS focus on earning WAY more than you spend or need to spend --- no matter what.

There are some job offers posted in this thread....I'm quite sure that if you
want you can make the 1250 per month and still be able to live after that.
You gotta to do what you want to do.....but I say $1250 per month is not
impossible to handle......

I have no idea how bankruptcy works, but from reading this and general knowledge I have about it.... could you put your bankruptcy filings fee ($1k ish) on CC, then not even pay that? Seems kinda easy to get out of.....

If you do decide to bankrupt, keep your chin up. You stayed in control of your situation & filed the paperwork. You didn't have some scummy repo guy take your _____. Some of the most successful business people have at one time declared bankruptcy & were able to start fresh. You'll have credit card offers within a year of filing since you'll be less of a credit risk.

Good luck!

I like the idea of putting the attorney on the list of creditors... Anyway, a good attorney is typically needed. NOT one of those turn the crank shops that advertise on TV. That's just my opinion. I'm not an attorney. Exception would be -- if you have a very simple well defined brankrupcy.

Actually, $30K of credit card debt doesn't sound bad. You didn't say you were behind yet. So you go late, regroup, get a job maybe.

Good luck to ya.

People get car and house loans with a credit score of 707 and worse.

Have a strong suspect that it is overall not as bad as you think. If you can pull out enough to eat somehow. Seems like there is always work of some sort. That's even if it pays like shit. Just to get you by, then do porn part time. I've done that. Shit even if you throw up fake TGPs on free servers, something extra will come in.

Yes, Forest is right. DON'T file yourself. Get a lawyer. A lawyer will save you far more than the $1k you spend.

Also, keep in mind it's not the end of the world. Something like 90% of all millionaires in the world have filed bankruptcy at least once.

And do it before the law changes (very soon). Also, Florida is apparently one of the best places to file.

In Cali they have some self-serve type of legal document preparation places (We The People, etc). Anyways, the courts from what I saw were much easier and smoother on self-filers than those that showed up with attournies.

Last I heard it was about 200ish to get the paperwork done through one of those then the state fees for filing. Was well under a 1000 dollars. Check to see if FL has anything like this and give them a ring.

Ugh, wish I could help. Have you been to a debt counselor? They can often gain you some time to recover and arrange for lower minimum payments. Your creditors don't want your bathroom slippers and toilet seat; they want their money and it's in their best interest to cut you some slack if it means they can get cash eventually.

I don't get it. First, why do this over $30k?! Call the people you owe money and ask for a payment plan.

Right now you should search for a good sponsor that will provide free hosting for you.

Tonight you start submitting gallerys to TGP:s. Also make a free site per day.

Tomorrow you do the same, next day the same, etc...

After a week you will start to see traffic, in 2-3 months you should earn a few thousands per month at least.

Or if you need more cash do the same *2 *5 *10 / day....

They can't. I'd hire another attourney becuase whoever you're working with right now should at least be explaining the process to you.

You realize that banks won't let you do this unless you could support all 5 loans on your credit inthe first place right?

Sheesh GFED.. First, sorry you have this problem man. Even more so when it appears you think you have little choice but to file - not an easy situation.

Have to say I know nada of Fla laws on bankruptcy, but be very wary of this and give a lawyer a rough briefing and get him/her to explain exactly where you would stand if you did file.

Can't say whether this now law or just talk, however there was a proposal which gave preferential treatment to credit card companies when an filing was made in that the card company remained a creditor and, in your $30K plus situation, - you would still owe them. ie there is little point in filing if you would still have this card company creditor. Anyone know if this has been passed into law?

Paying a $1000 in your current situation for a lawyer to put forms in a mailbox sounds more than excessive GFED. Any competent lawyer acting on your behalf has at least a moral (if not legal) responsibilty to explain implications to a client and what exactly he/she is going to do for that money. It may be worth a visit to the local courthouse and contact the relevant dept/person - often there are published notes on this kinda stuff - court people can be very helpful.

On the money side, sure $30K and $1200/min payment is going to be a lot when you don't have it - anything is a lot in that situation and more so when you have be ground down bothering over it. That's the killer.

There are companies or orgs (tho can't remember names now) in the US that specialize in renegotiating with card companies on both interest and capital - (I don't mean bloodsucking ripoff "consolidation" stuff) - for a one off fee which I think is less than $1000. You know of them? Reason I mention is a friend in the US did this.. about 2 years back and the amount was more than your $30K figure - and he is very happy he worked with them - they saved his ass at that time. Card companies are not interested in having hassle over their money - they will do deals, but probably better a third party acts on your behalf.

On cash inflow.. sure it's a killer and depressing as hell when it's not there, but you already know the positive side to this and not difficult to generate a good few 1000/month off the net in a relatively short time. Plus there is loads of work folks on GFY need done for immediate revenue.

Try and stuff that biz hat on, get fully equipped in bankruptcy filing info and check out the possibilities/avenues before passing over a $1000 to anyone. It's not easy, but vital you keep a level head on GFED and get armed with filing data. Stay cool man!

GFED!! And if you think you are badly off - ya ain't seen nothing yet!

I can tell you of an accquantance who had the doubious honor of winning Amex's "top spenders" prize of a vacation in your State. This "prize" cost him another .. around $16K on his Amex card.

Last I heard he has about twelve credit cards, (the one's he admits to having!), owes well over $500K on them, has a home.. worth around $700K but mortgaged to the hilt and now actually worth the land value. It was a very nice home with loads of character, but he totally screwed the place by "making improvements" - on credit cards of course!

During one of his "home improvements" he had $30K worth of video equipment in a room - that is now screwed up with white dust particles from the time thought he could plaster a wall. Anyone want a video shot?

Plus... he ain't actually got, or does not seem interested, in earning a living. Instead he flies "Russian brides" in for another "serious relationship" and pays for their flights and has been known to give them $18K to help their families out! The common factor is - they all seem to have big tits.

Believe me GFED - you are doing well in comparison!!
