Webmaster Trade Shows - Best Alternatives? :)
Hey everyone how are you?
We´re planning our marketing actions for the end of 2005 and 2006, and Adult Trade Shows are an important aspect of it. Me and my partner Mike have been to many Internexts, pretty much every internext since 2002, but we´ve never been to any other show. I have heard great things about CybernetEXPO and Phoenix Forums... some people say good things about the smaller ones such as Webmaster Access, etc too... so I decided to start a thread to sum it all up. So, what are the best tradeshows for you and why? We are based in Brazil so we can´t go to many, so help us out pls! Thanks in advance, and happy Friday GFY! Bruno Dickman

YNOT likes to do a bit of everything... Big shows... medium ones... regional gatherings, parties, US and non US events. I'd say plan on going to at least one Internext (I prefer the Florida one), Phoenix Forum, Cybernet Expo (yes I'm partial to that show especially), at least one Euro show like the AOE, and if you can swing it... do a party gathering like the YP (Yes, I'm partial to that one as well

Depends on your business I would say. Being consulting for the last several years the best shoe by far to me was http://www.islandgathering.com .. Why cause first of all Me and Shaliza created it for Fabian 4 years ago and it's a show that only business owners of top companies will go to.
But now with a client like http://www.revsharehosting.com and http://www.sexsearch.com the target is smaller webmasters, newbies tgp guys and gals so a larger show is more the idea for us and since I disagree with the internext and avn show coliding together this year I will go to the Pheonix Forum for once I haven't gone yet (due to political reasons... Persona non grata) And the only thing I hear bout that show is that it's the best one to attend in the US. Oh will also go to cancun but not for business, just to hang out with Eric and the GFY gang ;-)

I agree 100% with LAJ.
Everyshow has a differetnt flavor and feel. I think Im going to hit LAJ about writting an article about it. Phx Forum- No expense spared, top players and great time of year/ Meduim to large in size. A must goto event! Cybernet Expo ( San Diego)- a little bit smaller, well organized, awesome seminars! Hell ya! Smaller doesnt mean worse. Dont get confused. Internext- Maimi for sure, this is a must go to event, not the most about of biz as you would think. ITs more branding and getting out there. There is almost to many people at the Vegas one. I get lost in the mix. NO real face to face time, just a hand shake a smile and on to the next one. So many people Im scared im going to miss someone. Maimi is a little more chilled and hanging by the pool has its benefits. SO hit Maimi forsure Webmaster Access, I have been to the LA one and the one in Montreal. LA is cool lots of production companies and if you missed anyone at the Cybernet show you can hit them up there. Montreal is an amazing city with lots of stuff going on. LA is a bigger show but Montreal has a large group of Toronto webmasters and they are pretty active in the comminuty. YP Mexico, MY fav show by far. IT's small yes but you really get to meet poeple and find out who they really are. I never coem home from the yp with a ton of biz. This is the most underrated show in adult. I like to keep it my little secret. YOu get to see people wasted and since you are in the middle of no where and your with all your freinds its so fun. Yet in the morning the mexican sun wakes you up to a kick ass group of hung over people eating on the beach. Now thats bonding! Persoanlly I do better at smaller shows, where there is no limo's, ego's and huge bar tabs. I just like to hang out and see what makes people tick. I have never been to a show in europe before. Thats my goal for next year!

Well, I can't help but put in a plug, since we are working on the '06 Cybernet now, with a press release coming in a couple of weeks.
Our show is somewhat structured, with seminars, marketing opportunities, networking opportunities & of course there are always the parties. Yeh, we are the middle size show with 500 to 700 people. We have always considered networking & education our benchmarks. But, for those wanting to promote or wanting to see the latest offerings, we have our 'Corridor Cruisn event. We will no longer have a show room, but expand on that popular event instead. It gives a chance to promote painlessly for 3 hours the first night of the show. It gives a chance to see everyone at the show "sober" and in one place for a short period of time. Our hospitality and networking areas will be the main bar and the courtyard this year, as we have the whole place at Shelter Point Resort & Marina, San Diego. Welcoming party will be the evening of June 6, 2006. |

Having been to a fair handful of shows this year for my first time, one thing I am certain of is that each show DEFINITLY has its own essence and "purpose." Phoenix Forum was the best for networking and doing business - the CCBill team goes to great lengths to ensure your enjoyment. Organized, inexpensive, and boasting an incredible turn-out, I would highly recommend this show to folks in the biz!

I agree Phoenix Forum is a must attend event. Although I like to attend a variety of shows - CyberNet, YP events, Webmaster Access shows, etc. The reason I would recommend going to some of these Bruno is the fact you have not thus far.
It seems to me that the same people end up doing the same shows. So if you switch it up a bit and attend some different ones...you should see a dramatic increase in your business. Your designs are top notch, if you got it flaunt it!

My bad..... I was looking at the wrong calendar & gave the wrong dates. Welcoming party will be Thursday eve - June 8th. A little bird told me that it will be "White Trash Bash #2 - Hope so - that was a blast...... The same little bird told me that Porn Poker Tour will also do a repeat performance as the Opening Party, after Corridor Crusin. Now, we just have to talk D-Money into a repeat of the Players Ball - San Diego style:-)

I think I'm going to skip vegas Internext this year since there will be 3 shows going at one time and head to the Phoenix Forum instead.
I love Miami Internext too because it's in my own state, I don't have to fly, and I don't come home sick! |
