I got this in an email.

What exactly is this guy's scam? Is he just looking for private info or is it a fake cheque and he is looking for something for free?

be my companionship for those dyas with me in a hotel,musuem and etc, as i
do not know anywhere there this is my first time there so you will have to
take me round and show me some nice things of your country has to offer.
So get back to me now with your best price so that i can have my client in
your country pay you on my behalf via cashiers check, as iam based in
south africa.
So if you are interested do get back now so that i will give you my date of
arrival.

My guess is the check is fake. They will send it and then tell her that they had an "accident" and sent too much, so she should send the difference to them back.
