Whois Information?

I recently sold one of my domains that I had registered to me and apparently the guy I sold it to is using it to SPAM. I am getting angry emails and telephone messages demanding to be removed from "my" list.

It's pissing me off! When I do a whois search (several different ones) for the domain is still shows me as the registered owner. This was about 3 weeks ago when I the deal was done and the ownership was changed. How long does it generally take to change the registrant info?
