Looks like Fox News prediction of Rita was accurate, 150-155mph/min 920mb pressure. Rita is well on her way to becoming a Cat-5 hurricane. Its not to hard figure out anyway, the lower the mb pressure the stronger the hurricane.

You are right. It does sound like an adventure. It's just such an inconvenience to have to leave and invade someone else's home with 3 pain in the ass dogs. i am familiar with league city area, i was there when hurricane alicia hit in 1983, it was a cat3 and the flooding was major

Hurruicane Rita is expected to make landfall in Texas late Friday or early Saturday as a category 4 hurricane and level a large portion of the Texas coastline between Corpus Christi and Galveston. All residents in mandatory evacuation zones must evacuate. Do not make the same mistakes made during Katrina. If you are ordered to evacuate, do so. Houston now has voluntary evacs - although back in 2001 there was a tropical storm that came in at the same general path as this one (note a TS is real low winds) and Houston had floods everywhere with a lot of areas two feet deep - if this thing weakens a little it still will hit Houston with major devastation and the chemical plants causing toxic wastelands (damn I should be a Fox reporter)

CNN is showing it as a Cat 5 right now but they say that since the waters outside of Texas are a lot cooler it should drop to a Cat 3 by landfall (still intense)... hopefully they're right, that area has had enough devastation to have a Cat 5 hit land.
