yo, photoshop peoples =)

how is this done,

magazine covers, I like how the title of the magazine is covered up partially by the pic, I can seem to get photoshop to do this.. anyone wanna help a noob =)

It's done in Quark... not Photoshop... as Quark is the official layout program for magazines.

Those are two separate images, the picture of girls and the name of the mag.

I haven't touched PS in months... but it's done through layering/masking

I would suggest just paying a PS expert to do it for a small amount of money, as it would only take less than 10 mins for them.

do it with masks, or very steady hand of a select brush, mainly you want to make a layer of the image you want on top and erase the bg from that area .. photoshop has a nice bg erase it takes time to make it look nice...

christ.. the easist way is to make 2 blank panels put your logo on one and then put your "pic" on another. then create a third blank with whatever the fuck ya want tfor a background and drag the logo on first then the pic .. this is a lamest way to explain layers quick. I can make that in under 2 minutes. just practise.
