Yep, I'm in Baton Rouge, so we have plenty of them here. Some dumb asses in our River Center called a press conference yesterday. They wanted to complain about the "deplorable" conditions at the River Center.

1) They did not get $2000 debit cards like people in Houston.
2) They only got $300
3) Too many starches in their meals.
4) Not enough vegetables.
5) The chicken that was served for lunch was not very good

etc....you get the picture. It REALLY pisses me off, because there are many children in that very shelter that arrived alone and scared. Who gives a shit if this group of people didn't like the fucking chicken!!!!

Houston (and other areas that have shelters) just got the trash of the trash. These people are in shelters because they have no money, nothing. If they had a few bucks, friends or family with money living somewhere else, etc. they wouldn't be in a shelter. The majority of them get food stamps and welfare, so they are use to getting something for free. If you don't work for something you don't appreciate it. When you get handouts you start to expect more and more. Throw in a hurricane and all the crap they went through and now they really expect to get some stuff for free. The "you owe me" attitude.

Black, white etc.. really doesn't matter what race you are people in this type of system act this way. Just so happens most of the really poor in NO were black, and Houston just got a lot of them.

Well, when hurricane Georges back in 98 (i believe) the superdome was used as a shelter. They said a million times MILLION TIMES, BRING YOUR OWN FOOD, none will be provided for you. Well, they wound up providing food anyway, everyone got hotdogs. Some of the media was there doing interviews and you should have heard them screaming, " Day got us all lucked up in here and all they feedin us is damn hot dogs, and they aint got no catchup either!" They weren't even suppose to feed them, but they do and give them to food for free and they complain there is no catchup. Now I am sure there are a lot of people in shelters who are not like this, but a decent amount do act this way and the media always searchs for the most rediculas, dumb ass person they can find to do interviews with.
