:stop New MMA/Pro Wrestling War Brewing: What are your business-related thoughts?

In case you hadnt noticed, there is a new war for audience members brewing amongst today's premiere Mixed Martial Arts and Pro Wrestling groups.

Beginning this fall, Spike TV will be putting their full marketing muscle and machinery behind broadcasting UFC TV in the Monday 9PM spot that once used to be occupied by WWE Raw (which has switched over to USA Network). Also, Spike TV has decided to support TNA Impact on Saturday nights as a way to bulk up their commitment to the revival of interest in pro-wrestling.

Are you considering advertising in local or national spots with any of your mainstream products (or otherwise)? It seems like an ideal demographic.

For those that follow MMA, what do you see in store for the coming year? Will the artform be able to challenge pro-wrestling for that valule male demo?

USA vs. Spike/ WWE vs. UFC war heats up even more
"USA is going to start Raw at 7:55 p.m., to get a five minute jump on UFC Unleashed on Spike at 8 p.m. In addition, USA has added a fourth hour of WWE programming, a show called "Raw Exposed," highlighting the best moments in Raw's history on the USA Network, to air directly after Raw and go against the Ultimate Fighter show on Spike."

I can't see Spike going too far with this. TNA is a pathetically boring show, I remember trying to watch a PPV and the final match was a bunch of run-ins from the old DX/Clique washed up folks. Spike wants ratings and overall control of the show...they seem very pushy for a relatively new network.

I'd like to see UFC get some more following out of this so they can hopefully get a better channel. UFC right now puts boxing to shame as far as star potential and watchability.

One thing I never got about the valuable male demographic, it's supposidly one of the hardest to capture, yet WWE has had it for quite awile and still can't secure a major sponsor. I don't know if that's McMahon's fault, or that sponsors just don't think that demo buy things...
