In case you hadnt noticed, there is a new war for audience members brewing amongst today's premiere Mixed Martial Arts and Pro Wrestling groups.
Beginning this fall, Spike TV will be putting their full marketing muscle and machinery behind broadcasting UFC TV in the Monday 9PM spot that once used to be occupied by WWE Raw (which has switched over to USA Network). Also, Spike TV has decided to support TNA Impact on Saturday nights as a way to bulk up their commitment to the revival of interest in pro-wrestling.
Are you considering advertising in local or national spots with any of your mainstream products (or otherwise)? It seems like an ideal demographic.
For those that follow MMA, what do you see in store for the coming year? Will the artform be able to challenge pro-wrestling for that valule male demo?
USA vs. Spike/ WWE vs. UFC war heats up even more
"USA is going to start Raw at 7:55 p.m., to get a five minute jump on UFC Unleashed on Spike at 8 p.m. In addition, USA has added a fourth hour of WWE programming, a show called "Raw Exposed," highlighting the best moments in Raw's history on the USA Network, to air directly after Raw and go against the Ultimate Fighter show on Spike."
