:stop PLEASE HELP: webmaster stranded/broke/thirsty/hungry from Katrina hurricane!

We are looking for ANYONE anywhere reasonably close to the Jackson Mississippi area to resue one of our own.
FanTC ran a number of free sites and link lists and has been working in the biz for about 3 years now

Here are basic details
FanTC (Mark) and his wife Carol lived in an apartment right on the waterfront in Biloxi. They did a last minute evac carrying only the shirts on their backs and their 2 cats (one has since passed away .. not sure if from starvation, dehydration etc)

The entire complex was destroyed along with everything else they owned in the hurricane. Carol worked at a local casino that was also obliterated so she no longer has a job.

They were stranded living in their car in a parking lot with no food and water and almost no gas until yesterday when a trucker gave them a bottled water and some crackers. Another citizen charged both of their cell phones for them as they didn't even think to grab the car charger.

They have made their way as far as they can and are now stranded once again near a gas station that is out of gas and no electricity to the pumps even if they did have fuel. They used all the pocket change they had and are now down to nothing.

We want to call on our friends in the biz to find a way to help this couple who have given 3 years to our industry... PLEASE!

If you or anyone you know live anywhere within reasonable distance of Jackson Miss please let us know. Our hope is to get enough gas, water and food to this couple so they can make it at least to someplace that has working ATM's and gas pumps. We have their exact location as well as both of their cell numbers to make contact.

On a secondary note, Mark and Carol have lost everything they owned and could certainly use any spare change you might be able to offer them to assist in rebuilding their lives. Their paypal info is [email protected]. I'll find out if they have/use epassport and post that info soon.

ANYTHING WILL HELP, even if its just a few dollars ... please do what you can.

btw - there is a little more indepth information in this thread: http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...3&page=1&pp=50

Either me or Karla will try to update the thread and if you cannot donate at this time I would appreciate bumping this so others might see it and help

on behalf of FanTC and Carol I want to thank everyone in advance

bless those that have had to endure this unfathomable tragedy : (

Hey Vicki, if you get hold of them, ask them if they've seen or heard from David and Heather Steiner. Heather worked at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino and David is executive chef of what was to be the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. They have 3 kids. Their families are looking for them too. I figured casino people might know of one another since their house was near Mark and Carol's from what I understand. Their house was in Ocean Springs five miles east of Biloxi. The storm literally collapsed the casinos!

as of this morning, (11:48 est) i haven't heard from them, but i know they are trying to conserve their cell phone charge. they were lucky enough to find somone who was able to charge both their phones before they began heading north.

i have no news for them yet, but if anyone knows ANYONE in that area that can get to them with gas and supplies, plese contact me or vicki asap and we will get you their excact location, car description, and tag#.

my icq: 328-598-121

when i talk to mark, i will ask him about epassporte. if you would like to send a money order, i have an address they will be temporarily enroute to, so contact me privately for that, if you wish to donate. keep in mind, monday is a u.s. holiday, and there will be no postal service. as far as paypal, whoever said that a few bucks from as many people who could just send SOMETHING would really add up for them...thanks! his paypal is: [email protected].

as far as checking on your friends who also worked as casinos in that area, i will ask carol when i talk with her, as she worked in one of the establishments that was totally destroyed. i'm sure she had friends or knew people in her line of work.

continued thanks to you all, SO MUCH! thanks for the new thread, vicki!

I'm currently looking for a script where people can fill in a simple form and have the name(s) and simple message posted immediately onto the website via database or similar. My problem is I am in no way, shape or form a techie so I have to find a script so simple a blonde like me can admin it! *eek*

Thanks to everyone for the bumps .. the more views this gets the higher the chances go that we find somebody in that area to help

From what I am told from folks in that area the main issue is there is no electricity...thus no gas pumps work and no ATM's. I am trying to get them to Richland which is only a few miles up the road. There they will find shelter as well as food and water...what they need to get them through this immediate need. Then they can plan for the next step.

Bless their hearts...

yes Kathy and Linkster have both offered to help .. we are continuing to try and reach Mark and Carol via cell phone to double check their location and tell them help is on the way. The lines are soooooo hard to get through but will keep trying

Linkster, I'm so glad you got your electricity back on and hopefully suffered little damage during all this
and to think after knowing you have suffered, for you to offer help .. well its just undescribably kind of you ... *hugs and smooches*

for everyone else please remember ... this couple has lost EVERYTHING except their car and the clothing they have on their backs.
If you can spare even a couple dollars to help them rebuild their lives it would be most appreciated.

I normally do not like 'please donate' threads but this one is different, this entire situation is different. I cannot even begin to fathom waking up and owning absolutely nothing .. no house, no clothes, no pots and pans .. no NOTHING

please do what you can, if nothing more than bumping which is also helpful

thanks again, what a great community of people we have - it warms my heart : )

Heres a bump If they can some how get to Virginia I can turn my garage that is attached to the house into a room for them. If worse comes to worse can rent a uhaul with a trailer and go pick them up. 102112 My hearts go out to them and everyone else down there. Maybe somone closer can offer the same thing I can offer.

Either me or Karla will try to update the thread and if you cannot donate at this time I would appreciate bumping this so others might see it and help

on behalf of FanTC and Carol I want to thank everyone in advance

bless those that have had to endure this unfathomable tragedy : (
XPays is sending $100 to FanTC and Carol's paypal right now.

That's the website with pics of Heather and David Steiner. I believe Helen worked at the same casino as Carol. It was destroyed. I don't know how long the link will be up but d/load the page and pics and if possible send them or post them so Carol can see if she knows them or heard of them.

Thanks Vicki, I'll send their family some info.

I also have friend/family in the casino security industry. Working for the treasure bay casino. They were riding it out at the casino , but said all the casino's had skeleton staff until that last few hours and they all evacuated to higher ground.

Their houses and belongings were completely destroyed, but they are all safe.

Please keep us posted and let us know if they do, in fact, have an epassporte account and the necessary ATM card to withdraw funds.

Thanks!

FanTC says he'll post as soon as he gets settled although Id give them some time as its been quite an ordeal and theyre probably over-exhausted.
