well that situation is arguable

but do you see now that censorship is not something that is practiced just by governments, but can be done by anyone ?

ok lets say I dont like something author XXX said in a book of theirs. I walk into the book store turn to page XX and rip out that page in EVERY book, i put the books back on the shelf for sale. i just censored those books because it was something i disagreed with.

you do not have to be some governmental power or have power to censor anything.

You would not be doing censorship, you would be doing damage property. I think you do not understand how powerful the meaning of censorship is, just because you do not agree with someone, it doesn't mean it's censorship.

no, if you owned a book store and decided to not sell a book because of your own personal morals/ethics. this is you making a conscience decision censoring what your customers can and cant read.

I would not be censoring the book, I would not be selling it, period. This is not censorship. Just because I do not agree with the book, I am not censoring it, John Doe does not have enough powers to censor a book. Government agencies have that kind of power.

You want to see what censorship is? Go back in time, let's say, 1935, and try to publish a book in Germany about Jews and how successful they are.
