Good book, a magazine for quick reading, some TV show DVDs (easier to watch in short burst, IMO) and lots of Xanax and Ambien. :)

10 hours will go by like 20 minutes. :thumbsup

thats what i take when i fly to asia or brasil. long plane flights give me anxiety because i am such an active, "can't sit still" kinda person.

not to mention when you get there, you will be well rested and the jetlag is less on you.

:2 cents:

You're first class. You shouldn't need anything. Just chill out, drink champagne and try chatting up the hostess :)

See ya in A'dam.

I did that before, when I was horny as fuck from looking at the stewardess. Never again. When I came out of the bathroom, there was a queue to get in there.

I bought the Bose Noise Cancellation headphones and those helped me sleep. They really are unbelievable. Flew United Airlines and everyone had their own screen on the back of the chairs and that was nice. You could choose differnet movies.

My favorite was Crash. That movie was fucked up.

In Ibiza, Spain at the moment and having an unbelievable time. Cafe Del Mar was so beautiful yesterday.

XxXotic 09-11-2005 09:28 AM

a fist full of xanax (I hate flying)

i've always figured, if we were meant to fly, we'd have wings. the thought of a 40 ton (or however heavy they are) hunk of metal hurtling through the sky is unnatural :1orglaugh

BradShaw 09-11-2005 09:35 AM

coke, hookers. Not necessarily in that order.

heheh its the fact of being on a plane and shit that bothers me , the xanies calm me and the ambien knocks me out cold. Taking the 5 hr plus flights to the west coast the last year really werent bad cause i was out cold most of the flight

I'd suggest you forget the movies and the extra batteries and just take an Ambien instead, Joe ;)

Ive heard "Flight mode" really doesnt do anything and they still recommend you to turn your phone off. At least thats what happen last time I flew to Florida.

tony286 09-11-2005 10:57 AM

during start and landing it's supposed to be off, right. but during the flight you can use it in flight mode cause the telephone part is off and it works just like a PDA without telephone. and when the tell you something different they have no clue :2 cents:

fl_prn_str 09-11-2005 11:06 AM

a few hot stewardesses and then your the vip on the mile high club......

Doc911 09-11-2005 11:16 AM

I usually fall asleep before the plane even takes off. After that I like to read magazines.

Last time I flew, they asked us to turn off telephones, even those in flight mode.

Doesn't mean you HAVE to switch it off, though.

From now on, I'm going to leave it on out of spite. :)

MandyBlake 09-11-2005 02:11 PM

crossword puzzles or logic puzzles.
those are always fun :)
how about a deck of cards?

OY 09-11-2005 02:25 PM

I have a routine I usually follow as I fly quite often from LA to Europe.

1a) Get on plane, get situated in either first or business (if lucky - wife works for United so I get the best seats available)

1b) If I end up in coach - I immediately get depressed, pop a anti jet-lag and sleep the whole way - if I cant fall asleep from pill - hate the whole way.

2a) If 1a was where I ended up I enjoy a nice drink before the flight takes off. Then read a little, get served a nice meal (super meal if in first) and watch the first movie of my choice. Have dessert, coffee with bailys and pass out until about 1,5 hours before landing.

2b)If in first - lay down the seat completely into a bed and sleep sleep and sleep.

Easy as that. Leaving for Sofia tomorrow morning - should be fun. Enjoy Amster!

Hmm usually our trips are short hauls 2-4 hours... I will generally bring with me a laptop, a few magazines and have a few beers with Magnus on the flight. This trip I am bringing all that is above plus my PSP (+ my new kickass 5 hour battery pack for the PSP).

The flight is only 7.5 hours for us from Toronto so it's only about 1.5 hours longer than a flight down to San Diego/LA.

Taking the great arc will take you over Greenland and Iceland. Be sure to bring a camera as the landscape is awesome from 35,000 ft. You can see all the ice and glaciers if the sun is up. A truely awe inspiring view.

I party hard a few days before i'm leaving without sleep, works like a charm.

videoxpix 09-11-2005 06:08 PM

LSD, All the "Family Guy" DVDs that you can find, and a ride waiting for you at Schipol, to take you right to the Green House in the RLD. You should get there right around when they open.

sextoyking 09-11-2005 06:09 PM

Lens,

We leave tomorow for Europe. I love the new Luftansa Direct flight from Portland to Frankfurt. Luftansa has high speed net onboard and only like 29.00 for a 9-10 hr. flight. I can't wait to try it out tomorow.

tranza 09-11-2005 07:14 PM

books, movies - depends on the entertainment of the airline

INever 09-11-2005 07:17 PM

Movies on laptop: 2 hours
Music on laptop: 1 hour
Magazines/books: 1 hour
Sleep 3 hours
Masturbating and molesting the girl next to me (ranging from footsie to fingering): 3 hours

If it's a 3 hour flight I skip the movies, music, magazine, books and sleep.

LAX to Amsterdam has never been 10 hours. What line/plane are you taking?

tristan_D 09-12-2005 12:47 AM

my iPod, sleep, a good book, and my laptop where I can write articles.

Sean 09-12-2005 02:49 AM

KLM uses 777 from sfo to ams. so that mean video on demand for all seats, and quite a few movies. oddly KLM does not have power at any of the seats yet.

JuiceMonkey 09-12-2005 02:55 AM

here's a great tip from a pilot. Wear ear plugs, this is the number 1 thing (besides sleep) that will help you get over jet leg.

VirtuMike 09-12-2005 02:56 AM

I'd bring Ramos - have him pack three or four different outfits in his carryon and turn him loose about 45 mins after takeoff. It'll be more entertaining than any dvd.

reed_4 09-12-2005 04:03 AM

I always bring my mp3 and my gameboy when i am travelling.

Evil Doer 09-12-2005 04:04 AM
