Don't you just get fed up with some of these fucking idiots running tgps?

I've been submitting to one tgp on and off for well over 6 months and not once have I ever noticed whether or not they accepted my galleries or not...if they did I never noticed with any traffic increase.

Well anyway I go to submit tonight...and I'm blacklisted...LOFuckingL.

Then let's not forget to mention some of the asinine rules they have listed.

We all know of one well known tgp that will decline your galleries for "not enough nudity," but won't allow you to use the word Fuck in the description. WFT?! Do you not recall what biz you are in?

You know I can understand and deal with some of the larger tgp's who can actually provide a submitter with much traffic...hey they've got the gold and they get to make the rules.

But what really kills me is these little shits who started up last week and every sentence on their submit page begins with "You'll be banned for *fill in the blank*" All in big fucking red bold letters.

Kinda reminds me of this dumb chick my best friend was dating during the Gulf War...anyway she had all of these signs she carried at demonstrations against the war.

I told the bitch one day after she got real snide with me..."Looks like you used your angry crayons on those."

Sorry...I just got through submitting my gallery tonight I know won't get picked up for whatever reason..once again *fill in the blank*

I agree with eros. Sometimes tgp's think they know everything. There are alot of new people that come along and think they are going to start a tgp and make a ton of money. They don't understand how to run a tgp because they don't understand what a tgp is.

It seems like they are more concerned about blacklisting people than they are about traffic. There are all these tgp webmasters with sites that get like, 5000 hits a day ( on a good day) then you look at their listing and they send nearly all their traffic out to trades, so any gallery would get very few hits. Then they complain they have no traffic.

My favorite reasons for being blacklisted:

Url is too long
Description is too long
Didn't capitalize the first letter of each word

But I don't really give a shit, I just stop posting to them. Hell, I have enough problems with my own tgp submission list because every six months or so, it needs to be culled because half of the tgps on it have gone out of business.

I'm telling them that I want to buy the top3 spots of their tgps for 1month and i'm willing to pay them upfront. I ask them as a favor to list me for a demo 3 galleries at the 3 top spots for one day. When I see my galleries listed I turn them to a popup hell. It works all the time. Give it a try

Some of these kids just have a God complex. They think running a tgp site gives them this enormous power to control things. They have no idea what the real purpose of a blacklist is..
It's no wonder the tgp world stays so hosed.. no standardized rules. they all think they have to have their own little variations so they feel special with their, "I'll build a site that will be the best ever" mentality..
but.. like the seasons.. they come & they go

And even though Richard's Realm is well established and one of the biggest, it seems to me that the, "not enough nudity" deal defeats the purpose of the galleries, which is supposed to tease to viewers into wanting more and not have it all there. But then, perhaps that is his angle.. Give them all they want where they'll stay on his site.

Here's a few points to ponder (and argue over) regarding TGP's and their owners....

-- Richard's Realm sends 3 to 7k to a single gallery listing. It's his site, and he can set his rules however he wants, and anyone that doesn't like it can just choose not to submit to the guy. Simple, no? I don't much like a few of those rules either, and I've said as much in earlier posts, but the bottom line is what I've said above. It's his site.

-- Eros, that gallery is nice, and I would list it on my small tgp no problemo. BUT, would the hun list it? No, he wouldn't. I would bet my next few paycheques that he wouldn't, because the ad is wayyy too huge to the point where it overshadows the gallery pics. Again, HIS rule. And, if it's not good enough for the hun, then it's not going to get accepted by a lot of other tgp's either.

-- This has been said before, but I'll say it again here. A typical tgp (yes, even the smaller ones) get's anywhere from 50 to 1000+ submission per day. Only about 50 to 200 get listed, so the best submissions are always going to get the nod over the others. So, if your gallery has a huge fucking ad, and 10 others have ads of only half the size of yours, then those galleries will be accepted before yours.

-- And, with SO MANY daily submissions pouring in, it's just easier to blacklist someone than having to look at the same mistakes from them every day. Try something different, try reducing the size of the ad, try playing around with fonts and colors and such, until you nail down what works.

-- TGP rules: Okay, tgp's HAVE TO HAVE RULES. You must weed out the cheaters, the re-directors, you have to ban those that repeatedly fuck with you. People that use blind thumb links, multiple popups and such shit ought to be banned anyway, they are idiots. I do however begin to roll my eyes when the TGP has certain really ridiculous rules. But some guys just include those rules in order to weed out the fuckheads that can't seem to read or understand a simple sentence.

-- You might want to quit slamming the smaller tgp guys, because some of them get mostly search engine traffic that is also gold. My own little tgp is no great shakes for traffic, but judging by my own signups from my own gallery submissions I'd attest that the quality of my traffic is pretty great. I know a lot of other small fry's that are similar, and when you add up the hits from say 40 or 50 of those smaller sites, if you get a signup from only a few of them a day it's worth it. Just skip the ones that have rules you don't like, skip em and that's that.

-- Whether a tgp sends 200 hits or 20,000 hits, it's the productivity of the traffic that counts. I've had 20k from certain sites that never bought a fucking thing ever, and I've had 200 hits from certain sites that got me 2-4 signups. Judge not by the size of the traffic, it's the CC action that speaks loudest.

I truly appreciate the comments about my gallery but quite seriously I find it sad that people in this industry thinkn this way.

We are not here to provide free porn...we are here to promote sponsors first and foremost.

If you truly break that galery down it only consists of what would be 3 banners.

If I had chosen to put an banner on top followed by the big image along with the chalkboard which would then be followed by the first row of thumbs then the site text followed by the "join now" link then the 2 rows of thumbs plus the jimmy surf ad we wouldn't be having this discussion now.

That gallery would be okay.

But instead I tried to incorporate it all into the context of the gallery and now it's adcentric...to use a Hun adjective or a big fpa according to some of those posting on this thread.

I know your comments are based on how you percieve tgp's to review galleries but still the fact that gallery submitters are going along with it is just plain fucked up in my opinion.

The horrible fact of the matter is that while we gallery submitters and tgp owners must work together we are in competition against each other...and that's what it boils down to.

Now regarding the smaller tgp's. Quite honestly I have never seen a single sale come from them other than the su's I received for Adult Friend Finder or some other "free" type service like that.

These smaller tgp's while maybe have a tad bit higher quality traffic than some of the larger tgp's the fact remains that this is a numbers game. I'd rather have 10 sales off of 20K traffic on AL4A than 1 sale off of 100 hits on bumfucktgp.com.

Now if I can get both fine. But for some guy who just opened up his tgp a couple of months ago to have nothing but threats of banning submitters in his rules...fuck him or her I don't waste my time submitting to them.

But what about these people who get a little bit more traffic and actually won't list you because you didn't use proper grammar in your description....and yes there is a tgp out there with that in their rules.

Or a site like Richard's Realm who wants more nudity but you can't use the word fuck in the description.

The list goes on....I was just venting a little steam with this thread...steam that builds up every couple of months after submitting...that is all.

I did say I would list your gallery as-is, right? Look, I agree with most of what you're saying. My comments aren't only what I perceive as the feelings of the TGP'ers out there, because I also run a few TGP's, so I know exactly what they are thinking and why they do what they do.

It's an age-old problem, the TGP wants better quality galleries, and the submitting webmasters want more room to play with the advertising. Since the TGP'ers hold all the traffic and can run thier sites however they feel is right for them and their surfers, you don't have much choice here. You can squawk and gripe about it all you want, but at the end of the day if you want to get listed you have to make a few adjustments, that's just the way it is.

As a submitter myself, I can certainly empathize with a lot of what you say, I've felt it myself. BUT, let's take the month of November for example, I actually narrowed down the # of TGP's I submit to, and I went with a daily submission routine as opposed to every 2 or 3 days. I kept my banners to 2, and 1-2 text links ONLY. On certain TGP's with harsher rules I kept the banners to ONE only, with extra supporting text. I had played around with this formula for a while before November, and was seeing some good success, and in November it really hit home. My submissions averaged between 50 and 120k per day, and on one sponsor (that processes with i-bill) my sales shot from 20 to over 100 for the month, and much more for the following month. (I have 15 different sponsors at any 1 time)

Bend a little, be flexible, be resilient, yet don't break. Stick with what works for you, yet continually fine tune and adapt it (like Jimmy says, you got something great going with that design). Work within the system and make money, or shout at the TGP'ers and never make a dime, plain and simple as that bro.

Oops. :) Posts: 51,460	Here's a few points to ponder (and argue over) regarding TGP's and their owners.... -- Richard's Realm sends 3 to 7k to a single gallery listing. It's his site, and he can set his rules however he wants, and anyone that doesn't like it can just choose not to submit to the guy. Simple, no? I don't much like a few of those rules either, and I've said as much in earlier posts, but the bottom line is what I've said above. It's his site. -- Eros, that gallery is nice, and I would list it on my small tgp no problemo. BUT, would the hun list it? No, he wouldn't. I would bet my next few paycheques that he wouldn't, because the ad is wayyy too huge to the point where it overshadows the gallery pics. Again, HIS rule. And, if it's not good enough for the hun, then it's not going to get accepted by a lot of other tgp's either. -- This has been said before, but I'll say it again here. A typical tgp (yes, even the smaller ones) get's anywhere from 50 to 1000+ submission per day. Only about 50 to 200 get listed, so the best submissions are always going to get the nod over the others. So, if your gallery has a huge fucking ad, and 10 others have ads of only half the size of yours, then those galleries will be accepted before yours. -- And, with SO MANY daily submissions pouring in, it's just easier to blacklist someone than having to look at the same mistakes from them every day. Try something different, try reducing the size of the ad, try playing around with fonts and colors and such, until you nail down what works. -- TGP rules: Okay, tgp's HAVE TO HAVE RULES. You must weed out the cheaters, the re-directors, you have to ban those that repeatedly fuck with you. People that use blind thumb links, multiple popups and such shit ought to be banned anyway, they are idiots. I do however begin to roll my eyes when the TGP has certain really ridiculous rules. But some guys just include those rules in order to weed out the fuckheads that can't seem to read or understand a simple sentence. -- You might want to quit slamming the smaller tgp guys, because some of them get mostly search engine traffic that is also gold. My own little tgp is no great shakes for traffic, but judging by my own signups from my own gallery submissions I'd attest that the quality of my traffic is pretty great. I know a lot of other small fry's that are similar, and when you add up the hits from say 40 or 50 of those smaller sites, if you get a signup from only a few of them a day it's worth it. Just skip the ones that have rules you don't like, skip em and that's that. -- Whether a tgp sends 200 hits or 20,000 hits, it's the productivity of the traffic that counts. I've had 20k from certain sites that never bought a fucking thing ever, and I've had 200 hits from certain sites that got me 2-4 signups. They have no idea what the real purpose of a blacklist is.. It's no wonder the tgp world stays so hosed.. no standardized rules. they all think they have to have their own little variations so they feel special with their, "I'll build a site that will be the best ever" mentality.. but.. like the seasons.. they come & they go And even though Richard's Realm is well established and one of the biggest, it seems to me that the, "not enough nudity" deal defeats the purpose of the galleries, which is supposed to tease to viewers into wanting more and not have it all there. But then, perhaps that is his angle.. Give them all they want where they'll stay on his site. God I hate the flu!!

We are not here to provide free porn...we are here to promote sponsors first and foremost. If you truly break that galery down it only consists of what would be 3 banners. If I had chosen to put an banner on top followed by the big image along with the chalkboard which would then be followed by the first row of thumbs then the site text followed by the "join now" link then the 2 rows of thumbs plus the jimmy surf ad we wouldn't be having this discussion now. That gallery would be okay. But instead I tried to incorporate it all into the context of the gallery and now it's adcentric...to use a Hun adjective or a big fpa according to some of those posting on this thread. I know your comments are based on how you percieve tgp's to review galleries but still the fact that gallery submitters are going along with it is just plain fucked up in my opinion. The horrible fact of the matter is that while we gallery submitters and tgp owners must work together we are in competition against each other...and that's what it boils down to. Now regarding the smaller tgp's. Quite honestly I have never seen a single sale come from them other than the su's I received for Adult Friend Finder or some other "free" type service like that. These smaller tgp's while maybe have a tad bit higher quality traffic than some of the larger tgp's the fact remains that this is a numbers game. I'd rather have 10 sales off of 20K traffic on AL4A than 1 sale off of 100 hits on bumfucktgp.com. Now if I can get both fine. But for some guy who just opened up his tgp a couple of months ago to have nothing but threats of banning submitters in his rules...fuck him or her I don't waste my time submitting to them. But what about these people who get a little bit more traffic and actually won't list you because you didn't use proper grammar in your description....and yes there is a tgp out there with that in their rules. Or a site like Richard's Realm who wants more nudity but you can't use the word fuck in the description. My comments aren't only what I perceive as the feelings of the TGP'ers out there, because I also run a few TGP's, so I know exactly what they are thinking and why they do what they do. It's an age-old problem, the TGP wants better quality galleries, and the submitting webmasters want more room to play with the advertising. Since the TGP'ers hold all the traffic and can run thier sites however they feel is right for them and their surfers, you don't have much choice here. You can squawk and gripe about it all you want, but at the end of the day if you want to get listed you have to make a few adjustments, that's just the way it is. As a submitter myself, I can certainly empathize with a lot of what you say, I've felt it myself. BUT, let's take the month of November for example, I actually narrowed down the # of TGP's I submit to, and I went with a daily submission routine as opposed to every 2 or 3 days. I kept my banners to 2, and 1-2 text links ONLY. On certain TGP's with harsher rules I kept the banners to ONE only, with extra supporting text. I had played around with this formula for a while before November, and was seeing some good success, and in November it really hit home. My submissions averaged between 50 and 120k per day, and on one sponsor (that processes with i-bill) my sales shot from 20 to over 100 for the month, and much more for the following month. (I have 15 different sponsors at any 1 time) Bend a little, be flexible, be resilient, yet don't break. Stick with what works for you, yet continually fine tune and adapt it (like Jimmy says, you got something great going with that design). Work within the system and make money, or shout at the TGP'ers and never make a dime, plain and simple as that bro.
