When I did some checking into concealed carry laws in the states I have lived in you didn't just have to be on medication, you had to have had other things going on in your past that would make you a potential threat to yourself or others...and that would be clearly making those threats. So to just say because you have attention defecit disorder you can't get a CCW I say bullshit...there's more to the story than just that..if it's "anger issues" then it depends upon once again what you're talking about..sounds pretty deep to me. Regardless...I can walk into a wal-mart tomorrow and buy a shotgun...no waiting. Only going to do a check to see if I'm a felon. And regardless of what the crime is..if you are a felon you lose a lot of rights at those stagest...even the right to vote...but that doesn't make it a "privilege." |

I donno Can debate with you forever I was in Government Honors. And Goverment in college both passed with an A. there is so many What if's and holes...Still though. I remember it being a test question. You don't have a right to vote. It's a privlage. Because that privlage can be taken away;its not a right. Yadda Yadda the consitution is a living document. And I feel sick as shit I just ate dennys.. After Drinking Starbucks and beer today I am going to puke -=) |
For example KMR...here are some things in Nevada that may get you disqualified:
What are Grounds for Denial? Of course, a permit will not be issued to a person who is an ex-felon who has not had his civil rights legally restored, including the right to possess firearms. The statute also provides that a permit will not be issued to a person who: 1. Currently has a warrant outstanding for his arrest. 2. Has ever been declared by a Judge to be either incompetent or insane. 3. Within the past five years has been admitted to a mental health facility. 4. Within the past five years has been a habitual user of alcohol or controlled substances, or been convicted of driving under the influence (DUI), or been committed to a rehabilitation program for alcohol or controlled substances. 5. Within the past three years has been convicted in any state of a misdemeanor of a violent nature, or involving force, or threatened use of force. 6. Has been convicted of a felony in any state. 7. Has been convicted of a crime involving violence or stalking, or under a restraining order for domestic violence. 8. Is on parole or probation. 9. Within the past five years has been a subject of a court requirement imposed as a condition of withholding a judgment of conviction of a felony, or suspension of a sentence for conviction of a felony. 10. Has made a false statement on an application for a concealed weapon permit. #'s 2 and 3 address the issues you're bringing up...might be different in Florida..but it's pretty similar to Texas law as I can recall. |

A privilege is something you have to "earn." Like a drivers license. You have to show that you are responsible enough to be given that responsibility...like a CCW is a privilege..but anyone who meets siimple criteria lke having an ID and is not a felon can own a shotgun and have "the right to bear arms." |

There are a lot of levels... From what I understand a CCW is based on State. In TEXAS Aren't you allowed to have a Shotgun thats visable behind you in a truck? But you can't have tinted windows. In Florida it's 3days min to buy a gun unless you have been Federaly cleared. If you have a Class III you give up your rights for search/seiser The ATF can come into your house at anytime and make sure that the gun case is locked and you can get a felonly fine if anyone in the house knows the combo besides you. I understand enough. To know that what you hear and read aren't always the facts. the point is you think it's a right to bear "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." (meaning National Gaurd) I am done with this thread. Last place in the world I would take Governmental advice from is another pornographer |

Felony. = you can never vote. |

When you turn 18 anyone can vote...unless they are a felon. That's what distinguishes a right from a priviledge..the fact that you don't have to EARN that right when you turn 18...you were born with that right in this country. You can LOSE that right..sure..but just because you can lose it does not make it a "priviledge." I can be a grade A asshole and vote all day and every day YOU CAN'T STOP ME...I have that right...I didn't have to earn it...I was BORN with it. I can see what you're trying to say..but I think you're confusing the issues. Shit man...breathing is a priviledge..nothing guarantees you that you're going to get that next breath...but in the context that you're trying to use priviledge you are wrong. A drivers license is a privilege...voting is not it's a right. |

I have guns and never feel like I want to shoot someone. I do shoot ducks and attempt to shoot turkeys. But if 5 guys were gang raping my wife, I would shoot them no problem.
