how is it called when a company does not allow an employee/freelancer to do work in the same industry as the company?

its a noncompete and it wont hold up ,you cant prevent someone from making a living. What you can do is say something they cant contact any client the company had.

Are you saying they want to hire you as a freelancer but you're not allowed to do side stuff on your own? That would just be "exclusive" to that company. That's not unreasonable.. |
