so i was speeding....and i got pulled over. i was too tired to even argue so once the trooper came to my window i just gave hime my license and immediately i said "i'm sorry for speeding officer".

so the trooper tells me he caught me doing 88 in a 55, and in NY that means like 8 points on the license, and i already have 3 existing. so once you hit 11 points they would suspend your license. and....i couldnt even find my registration or my insurance card in the car either

so the trooper just walks back into his car with my license. 5 minutes later he calls me to his car and hands me my license and a ticket. he gives me a "no seatbelt" ticket, which wont put any points on my license and he tells me its my lucky day!!!

THANK YOU JESUS FINALLY FOR ONE DECENT COP!!!!

Few years ago I got a ticket for window tint.. I didn't even install the tint. It was a new car I had just bought a few days before and the cop knew that. Still had a temp tag.. Damn ticket was $100 and I got a long lecture about how cops get killed because they can't see through the tint..

I've had 2 state troopers give me tinted window tickets instead of speeding ... that's a great deal ... you can take the tint off and show pics to the judge and they will through it out ... not that i would take the time to do that ...i just paid the tickets ..... better then points

i have never seen a cop with fear in his eyes.

my wife and i put him at ease and he chilled out.
he was very polite and gave me a ticket for speeding and let me go.

his buddy was about a half mile up the turnpike behind a railing waiting on me.
that fucker gave me the dirtest look i ever seen in my life. my wife and i busted out laughing.

i'm glad the good cop stopped me instead.

Allowance is 6. I can get 2 more points before a (I believe) 6-month suspension.

You did something right. You apologized for being wrong. Remember that a cops entire day is spent dealing with idiots. I think of of the worst and most cliche things that one can say when getting pulled over is "What seems to be the problem officer?"

There are plenty of good cops who are just doing their job, but if you put them in a position of authority or power, they probably will take the opportunity to teach you a lesson.

I think by admitting what you did wrong you stole his thunder, he didn't feel as though he had to penalize you as you knew what you did wrong and admitted it.
