Too much sleep = increased death rate
Confirmed: Too much sleep really is for pussies. Sleep hogs beware. A new study suggests that individuals who sleep eight hours or more a night actually have an increased death rate compared with those who average just six or seven hours. The findings appear today in the Archives of General Psychiatry. http://scientificamerican.com/news/021502/2.html |

				 | Good grief, I am with you Sykk, I think I get 4 hours sleep a night, IF I am really lucky. I am in bed around 2 and up by 6 every damn morning. I do my best work at night after the kids are in bed and in the mornings after they go to school before the little one wakes up. Tam |

				 | ...but if you're one of the lucky ones who feel alert after six hours of snoozing, rest assured. Says Kripke, "From a health standpoint, there is no reason to sleep longer." Damn, I'm going to kick my 3rd grade teacher's ass. |

On a long enough timeline, it is 100% death rate - The ratio of total deaths to total population in a specified community or area over a specified period of time. The death rate is often expressed as the number of deaths per 1,000 of the population per year. Also called fatality rate. | |

				 | Amen. I sleep when I want, wake when I want. If someone had to ask the me the best benefit of this job aside from cash money, it has to be sleep. Sometimes I have to pull some ugly hours, but for the most part I sleep until my body says it cant do it anymore. Sometimes I sleep till I feel sick. Oversleeping is almost as bad as a hangover. According to the study, I will make it to 34. |
