That's exactly what I'm talking about. People refusing to lie down and using their drive to get out of the shit rather than waiting for Uncle Sam to come along and handing them a $1M check for being so special. Poor people waste education funds and medical resources, make our street unsafe, never pay taxes and then have the hide to DEMAND help. Here is my handout :321GFY |

poor people have wayyyy too many kids

because the rich people harvest the labor of the poor using knowledge... same thing they did with slaves, if the slaves started getting "smart" then the slave owners lost their power. Would you work for minimum wage? exactly.... you are most likely smart enough to know that money is just energy and rich people just position themselves at the top with poor people at the bottom bearing the burden.. kinda like a pyramid. |

They would rather buy Nike shoes for 200$ than books

lol. troll of the day! Maybe the poor should just pray.....that will help.... right? |
I agree poor people get fucked over alot, but being in the military for 10 years has taught me one important thing if nothing else.
"Take responsibility for your own damn self!" If your getting fucked over, do something about it! Bitching and whining without taking action will get you nowhere. :2 cents: |
who else are they ganna blame ?

It's all nice. we get it. you are a caring and compassionate person that cares. wonderful. the problem with your view is that anyone that doesn't agree is automatically the greedy prick because your view leaves no middle ground. you keep saying all this dumb shit... "the ever growing division between the rich and the poor" blah blah blah - the same bullshit rhetoric that has been said since the dawn of time. the bottom line is that the distribution of wealth in any economy is a fairly static number... 20% of people tend to control 80% of the wealth. and you know what? If we gathered all money up in the United States and dropped it from airplanes into ghettos - in 100 years the distribution of wealth would again be the same. why? because while most people will be buying gold chains, stereo systems and 100 pairs of tennis shoes... and some people will be intelligent enough, have the foresight and work ethic to recognize the opportunity and be the ones to start manufacturing, marketing and selling those things to those idiots. thats how it all works. there is nothing in the US stopping anyone from getting off their lazy, ignorant, inbred ass and making money. nothing. zero. no rich person ever tried to stop me from making money. no one is stopping you. no one is stopping anyone. believe it or not, poor people become wealthy all the time. sorry to burst your bubble again with that little fact. |
Buying healthy food such as vegtables and lean meat is probably more cheaper than McDonalds, it's not expensive. Only thing is that it's an acquired taste and some lazy people prefer McDees because it's faster and more convenient.
Plus you don't need a gym membership to work out, hell I HATE working out in public in front of people. You can easily work out in your own home, or if you don't mind working out in front of people just go to the park and jog... Lazy people always make excuses! |

no need to create or spread hate/racism since african americans create it for themselves. |
Also poor people from what I have seen do not know how to manage money. They may only get paid hourly and would spend their money on stupid useless shit they don't need at ALL. From what I've seen lots of poor people have bad financial skills. If you gave them a million dollars they wouldn't know how to save it or invest it. They think the whole point of having money is to spend it; they have no class whatsoever.
Not all poor people are like that tho. Some know how to really stretch a dollar and manage their money wisely. It depends more on class tho. Not all poor people are low class. Some can actually be well educated and have a degree but not make a lot beause of their profession or because they are in grad school. Those people tend to be more "classier" and know how to manage money and carry themselves very well. And then you have the obnoxious poor people who like to spend all their money on flashy jewels and ghetto designer clothes... |
damn idiots need to go to school, get a job, stop being so lazy, and stop popping out kids

it's sad but true

People are poor for a variety of reasons. Not all poor people are lazy, crime prone or engage in the activities you described. Oftentimes, they carry the effects of bad decisions of people that came before them. My mother's family was dirt poor but through hard work, planning, and sheer personal will she and her siblings made out okay. The key thing about poverty is that even if a person is MATERIALLY poor, he or she should not allow themselves to become MENTALLY (as in attitude and outlook) poor as well. My mom and her family may have had to ration themselves 1 cup of rice a day for food but they never accepted their poverty and always strove hard to better themselves through education, work opportunities and starting small businesses. This is the kind of mentality that got them from a slum in Manila in the late 60's-early 70's to middle-class homes in California.
|
Because from their perspective, rich people made their money off the working backs of the poor.
|
And one more thing... not all poor people blame rich people for their plight. That's an EXCUSE mentality that will just make a person poorer. My mom never blamed her poverty on rich people. She always said... if you want to become rich, you CAN be rich. Just work hard, think hard, and do the best you can. Never make excuses for your own failure and always BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
No government program or amount of government aid can produce that mentality. It has to come from the person. Quote:

And he probally pays them $5.15 and hour and yet can't figure out why they can't pay their bills. But it's not HIS fault. :winkwink: |
hahahaha morons...both sides hahahah

Poor people generally spend money on Scratch off lottery tickets, beer, cigarretes, and corn for their kids. And usually in that order.

people are fucking lazy, its as simple as that.

that's the tradition...they have to blame someone.!

because complaining is the easiest thing to do when your middle name is "lazy"

All people are self made. Only successful people admit it.

No I cannot come to the US to make the money I make here, it's that simple. You also show a complete ignorance about countries outside the US. Where I live, Czech Republc, is freer then the US. But then they don't tell you that in the movies or on TV so how are you expected to know? And as for being in the porn business this country is a lot more freer than the US. But again how would you know that? However back to the US and New Orleans, when you are looking at the news coverage look to see how many cars you can see. To me it seems most of those with cars got out, very few left and the ones I see look to be driven in after the storm. |

Now look at the elections and the promises the candidates make. They all promise the same, to cut taxes. So how are the por to get a good education with the rich cutting funding? The answer is the parents take it on themselves to educate the children. Nice answer and absolves the rich from blame. Even though they are well aware that the parents don't have the skills or the resources to do this. |
My parents were poor when they left their country after WWII, they were poor when they came to Canada. I am amazed at the fact they did not speak english and yet BOTH my mother and father were able to find employment to support themselves, three children and an aging relative. They worked hard, made sacrifices and eventually landed on their feet never once using social assistance. Not once did they complain. I am amazed when I hear how many people are on welfare or mooching off the system when some, not all - are able bodied english speaking citizens. We are all presesnted with opportunities - its what we chose to do with them that can change our lives.
|
Maybe because they felt hopeless, or maybe the world is just a little unfair... why it has to have rich and poor people... why not equal to all, right?

My parents also came from working class and raised themselve to middle class. It can be done. But as your mother will tell you it's tough and not all succeed. 28 years ago I was bankrupt and had bailiffs taking away the furnture. Today my biggest worry is whether to buy a BMW or Merc, could buy something better but still feel guilty about the prices, I buy for cash. But any of todays poor are not equipped to compete in todays world, they lack the skills and temprement. Either you are prepared to change it or you have to sit and watch the money it will cost you in the long run. This thread is about Katrina and the people left in New Orleans. Most of them left did not have the abilty to get out. The cost would have been a few million dollars to lay on an enormous convoy of coaches. Because this was not done the cost of putting it right will be billions. A stitch in time saves nine. |

You can't vote in goverment after goverment who promise less taxes and expect those at the bottom of the pile to crawl out on their own. They lack the basic skills to do so. So don't vote for a goverment that promises to cut and moan about the consequences. |

you were the one who mentioned american work ethic and brought behavioral attributes into the conversation, not me. ... then went futher to highlight your point by making comparisons to brutal third world dictatorships. you are an awesome photographer with a great eye... but to call you irrational and illogical in your political views would be a gross understatement. although i might be inclined to agree with you in some ways about the average americans view of the world, i find it funny that you would mock me because i am american and supposedly know nothing about the world and yet i speak more czech than you do, while you live there, work there and have a family there... and i have spent far more time in eastern europe than you have. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |

Employers who don't employ people based on the home address, color and accent is one way. But what the fuck. I'm not a liberal really who cares a lot for the poor, theonly reason a girl poses naked is she needs the money, but I'm not one of the rich who goes around complaining about it. Unike many here. STFU and keep making money. But Bush will be spending twice as much putting things right in NO, than he would of if he had thought a bit harder. Well for him a lot harder, who said the poorly educated can't rise to the top? :1orglaugh |
