I think you will find alot of guys join for a sense of direction, a new adventure, a challenge and they currently dont have much to look forward to in their situation. Also remember the majority join and never see war.

Been there, done that. But it was not voluntary at my time. At least not here. What I don't understand is why so few people with money join? Is it cowardness and empty words, when they let poor people fight for them?
