The case of USLotto.com (An Indian Casino in Idaho) went to the Supreme Court
and the Casino lost.

The bottom line is it's illegal for any US Citizen to use any phone, computer or device that moves over state lines to place bets even if the casino is not in the USA.
Doesn't PartyPoker allow US members?

"Doesn't PartyPoker allow US members?"

Yes they do but they are not a US Company they are now a Public UK company.

The US people who gamble on their site are breaking the law not Party Poker !

It might be interesting to note that the casions sued Visa and Mastercard in Australia
so they could take US Customers credit cards and the casinos won. That's why most
casinos online have an Australian Corp even if they are also in the UK or St/ Kitts etc...

As a result of the courts ruling in Australia Visa and Mastercard cannot block US Customers from using their services via coded credit cards. Anotherwords the casinos
can operate as non-casinos as far as Visa/MC are concerned so they can take US Cards and not block them.

I've heard that V/MC are going to code their credit cards for adult next year the same way they do for casinos so US Issued cards cannot be used for porn and this is why the US Gov't isn't going after porn too much?

If you remember Clinton tried to outlaw porn and the Supreme Court ruled that 1st Ammendment rights trumped the law so they are put pressure on the credit card issuers and processors and coding the cards so they can't be used for adult is the next step.

I think this is stupid because pre-paid credit cards are starting to take off and you can now get a pre-paid Visa or Mastercard without any ID or address attached to the card.

So, if you want to start a new business start selling non US pre-paid credit cards
to Americans.

The cards have a $1000 monthly limit to keep terrorists and drug dealers from laundering money but porn surfers don't need that much.

I forgot to add that the reason V/MC codes their cards so you can gamble isn't
because of the Gov't. There was a woman who racked up $500K about 5 years ago in California and sued them because she said they should have stopped her from using their credit cards for poker.

The court in CA ruled in her favor for 5 Million Dollars and V/MC had to pay up. It went to the 9th Court of Appeals and they ruled against V/MC so they got stung pretty hard.

That is so ridiculously typical. The extent to which American courts encourage lack of personal responsibility is apalling.

According to a number of lawyers that we have talked with. The chances of this law being actually passing is remote.

I would be able to sleep just fine. Porn is addicting, so are webcams as someone said.

So is shopping and makeup, I've been hanging around on some makeup boards and some girls have 10-20k worth of MAC makeup.

Some people are addicted to buying designer clothes and purses and will rather spend thousands on buying clothes and purses rather than buying their own homes or paying their bills.

I read fashion boards and I've seen people like that, and then they go broke and have to "sell-off" their used makeup and clothes...

Some people are so addicted to designer clothes that they will hook and fuck for them (i read this is the trend in Japan now for young women).

EVERTYHING can be addicted if you don't have commone sense, and it's simply not my problem.

It could possibly be included in the aiding and abetting... Being an accessory to illegal activities.. yada yada... I'm sure if they wanted to make life difficult for affiliates... they could do it..

Because only big business can make money in gambling. You think they are going to let some measly web affiliates get in on their racket?

Spunkmaster knows what he's talking about. About 4 years ago I worked for a company that was poised to work within the the new online gaming laws - partnering with a brick and mortar casino to distribute PC-connected devices composed of GPS, biometrics, and smart card. Biometric to verify age, GPS to determine state lines, and smart card for... well, mainly cause it was a cool buzzword to investors. We had the blessing of the NGCB at the time and were poised to take over the world.... yeah, you've heard that story before.

That is just scare tactics - there are no prosecutions for affiliates or players that we or our lawyers have found that show this.
