The original Van Halen can't be touched...but once David Lee Roth left he became the biggest queen to walk the concert stage since Elton John and Freddie Mercury.

Early Van Halen(especially the first album) was the best..they had a bond together, most of them grew up together and became big together...Kind of like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Blood Sugar Sex Magic...but i digresss... When i think of VH, i think of David Lee Roth, he was the front man. The first album and 1984 were some of the best full rock albums ever written

THEY BOTH KICKED ASS....... Hagar definately was better in the 90's then roth would have been.. Roth is more 80's old school...When roth was in they rocked.. When Hagar joined the band they had another kickstart..They had great sucess..They both seem to be washed up now......I think they were both Unique so I won't favor either....

"Eat 'Em And Smile" was better than ANY Van Hagar album. He had a kick ass band behind them? Guitar God? Steve Vai fills in just fine for Eddy. The bass player was better than the Michael Anthony (plus he banged Savannah - so a porn connection!), and, well, OK drummers don't matter.
