gas jumped an insane amount in 24 hours here, how is it where you live?

I had to fill up this morning and just stopped at the first place I found without looking at the price. It was $3.49. I got a gallon and drove to the place around the corner from my house, they were $2.89, but they were changing the sign and the pumps while I was there. What is it like where you are?
I almost feel bad for the suv owners, almost.
Bow to the moderate fuel efficiency of the Volvo wagon!

Yeah, I haven't been out since this morning when they were changing the prices, I bet they have gone up twice since then.

$2.95 here in LA on the corner for regular unleaded.

Isn't it funny how a negative effect on anything relating to gas immediately raises the price, but when, say, OPEC ups their production it takes MONTHS for prices to go down?

And they even answer the time it takes for prices to drop as something like "the gas in reserves were refined months ago, when prices were still high"...

FUCK I HATE OIL COMPANIES

They take their time lowering the price, because we are still using it as fast as we can.

$2.62 at Sams Club in Gilbert, AZ. However, some stations in downtown Phoenix claim to be running out of gas.

I seriously believe that the world is right on the verge of a worldwide depression like we have never seen. Too many bad things happening, and the economy can't take these high prices for fuel.

Alberta here. I just filled up at .97/litre because the radio guys were talking about prices jumping to $1.25/litre tonight. Huge line-ups at the gas station by my place, which hasn't changed prices yet.
